How to turn my mom on

Hey guys,

I was just wondering how I can turn my mom on to skiing, she doesnt love it:(

Any suggestions would be great on how to get my mom off of her hatred of skiing

Stimulate her prostate

Or show her videos of people charging tits deep powder. stuff like Retallack: The Movie stands out as the coolest side of skiing that anyone can get stoked on.

Maybe wear a mouth piece, back protector? Show her that you will be safe. I'm sure her biggest worry is you will get hurt. Sure you can show her how passionate you are about it, which will help, but really she needs to feel reassured, not passionate

start slow, just hint at the idea that winter is awesome. Then hint to her that skiing could be amazing, with benefits not just for you but for her as well. do this for a little while to warm her up to it. Next is an important part, DON'T RUSH it, tease her a bit before you make the big move, you gotta have her ready for it. Work all around the idea of skiing, seriously carress the thought of skiing all around her, but don't go in too deep to the topic. When you and her just cant wait any more, then it all comes together....

"mom skiing is awesome heres a video of the hoodcrew this is what I want to do with my life"

she'll be quivering with relief when she says

"yes son, i approve"

I was kind of scared to click on the thread because of the name, but I'm also struggling with something similar. I want to get my brother more stoked to go skiing with me this season. My sister went to college this year and she would always snowboard with me when I would ski.

I feel like forcing it on him would just make him hate it more, so I'm trying to figure out what both my brother and I like about skiing (which is pretty easy for me, but not so much for him) and both get extra stoked about it. For example, he likes to race while I spend most of my time in the park, but we both love skiing powder and get super excited about that.

So this season, spending more time with him and doing what he likes to do. Then kind of switch off. Since he likes to race, I'll just go ahead and bomb the trail with him. Then the next day, I'd take him to the park and teach him some stuff that I like to do.

I really hope this works out, because I'm super socially awkward and don't make friends easily on the mountain because of that. And even though it is sometimes nice to ski alone, I'd rather be with a sibling and/or a friend. So I hope this works out for me and I hope this helped you a little.

For clarification, are you wanting her to ski herself or simply give you less of a headache for enjoying the sport?

Beautiful Job, +K

make some money so she doesn't have to pay for any of it. it's an expensive activity, if you weren't already aware.

My mom is also against skiing because of how expensive it is. She is a real penny pincher,so I always tell her about all the amazing deals, and resales i get. She warmed up to it a bit after I explained more about the money side to skiing.

Invite her to come up for a day and watch/hang out with you. Take it rather easy, but show here how much passion and love you have for the sport.

Show her a Wallisch edit. That's where it started for me, although I've been a skier all my life.

if its you wanting her to get in to it, just don't bother. different strokes for different folks you know? my whole family is stoked on horseback riding but it never did anything for me, but for whatever reason skiing is a full fledged addiction. you can't make people like the things you like, and the more you try (even if its subtle) the more they won't want to.

when i read the thread title i was like
