my understanding, is that if i hooked it up to another computer, and the list in I tunes was blank on that computer, all my songs would be erased. i dont know if this is true or not, but either way, it was also my understanding that you couldnt hook it up to more then one computer to get songs on a new computer from it. i heard somewhere that you coudl get around that, how? (basically, first of all, i have some music on a comoputer that is not my primary musci computer that i want on my ipod, also it would be nice to give my firend all my music by hooking up my ipod to his computer)

That is why ipods suck. Because they like the RIAA. No one likes the RIAA that isn't rich. Unless you are some sort of space rock, from SPACE.

OK when you are on your own computer and the Ipod is wired up there will be a little icon in the very bottom right corner of the itunes window. The button looks just like a little grey box with an ipod in it. So click it and switch it from auto update to manually update. Now when you put it on somebody elses xomputer you can get their music and play yours as well. And yes it will delete your music if you dont change it.

to transfer songs you can drag the mp3 file into ur ipod. this bypasses the shitty copy protection the ipod has. as long as the song isnt in ur playlist, just in the hard drive as an mp3, you can transfer it everywhere.
