How To Ski RR skis

I found this earlier today. When I had the opportunity to ski on the ARG, I felt like I had to slide my tails around alot to turn on hard snow, but in soft snow they were insane. I learned how to ski on it fairly fast, but I wish I would have read this article first. It is an article written by Shane McConkey called "Brain Floss - A guide to the Volant Spatula". It came with every pair of Spatula's purchased. I would post the article directly here in this forum, but I assume the Skiers Journal would rather have you linked to their page. If you haven't skied a reverse-sidecut ski, this is a great article to read before you do so:

Yeah dude, that is when the spatula came out..the first reverse sidecut ski. Since it was so different, he wrote this guide. The most helpful part is "how to ski them on hardpack or whatever". I just figured with Goode, Praxis, DPS, Armada, and a few other companies making revserse sidecut skis now..this would be helpful for everyone who is picking up a pair.

I wonder what percentage of this site knows that Reverse camber isn't anything new. Shit's been around for ages. Anyone remember McConkey shredding that AK spine on water skis? He pretty much ripped 1000 vertical feet sideways.

but mcconkey is a beast and could probably ski better than 99.9% of the people on this site even if he was riding straight 2X4's.

I remember reading that on TGR a while ago.

Very nice brian floss seeing as I'll be on a pair of reverse sidecuts once ski season hits.

Yeah dude, that was sick, do you remember when he tried skiing on the steel bumpers of an old buik or something.

word ski joesh, good article on the RR skis. ski them like butter and ski like a champion. soon we will be skiing RR in the pipe, just to prove that we are badass like McConkey. thank you Shane for giving us RR!!

I have one Spatula hanging in my room at my parents house. Never ski'd them, because I could only find a single ski on ebay. ahahah

A great article. I fear that my Hellbents don't quite operate by the exact same principles, but should be similar aside from reverse sidecut.

Fuck ya, I watch Focused all the time, that was pretty sick what he did with those water skis, the sidewalls looked like they were like 2 inches high, they must have weighed so much.

I feel old now, then again with the average age on this site like 15 it isn't hard.
