how to ski in the summer

Right now i plan to take a tramp class, and dive in the pool, but i wanna do rails to but i have no sonw, anyone know of somthing i could put on a hill that my skis would slide on enough to get me some spped for a 10 foot rail, i alredy tried slip and slides they dont work

I have heard that wet carpet works decently well, if you have a steep enough hill.

put up a steep wooden ramp for an inrun, cover it with astro turf, soap up the astro turf until it's all white and snowy looking. ski down. hit rail. fall.

OR my awesome plan:

take 2 pieces of 2x4's, about 15 feet long each. put them paralell to each other. put short (couple feet long) metal stakes between them so it looks like a ladder. put equally length pieces of pvc piping over them. It will then be a sturdy roller board that you can prop up against anything for slope, or just lay it on a hill.

 
i think im gonna try the astro turf idea, it seems like it could work and it would be easy as hell to do...

Wet/soapy astroturf works perfectly fine for rails. Or you can go to your local ice rink after they resurface the ice and steal all the snow (ice shavings) they dump out back. Theres usually a really good amount.

I think idnoor outdoor carpet or astro turf work ok. regular carpet sucks. its slow. And snowflex can't be bought in small quantities

I found some info on snowflex, but where can you buy it? There are like some places that use it in europe but I WE NEED SOME ROUND HERE!!

^ for the thousandth time you can't buy snowflex. none of us can. unless you have a million $'s and want to build an entire park of the shit it's not available in anything resembling a small quantity. if you want small quantities you CAN buy dendix but i am still waiting for their email on how much it costs and how to get ahold of it

Astroturf works really well. I have a ramp with it on in by backyard.

Just keep putting soap and water on there, and it will work great.

Plus, it's like $12can/12x3 feet. So it's super cheap.

Just make sure your slope is steep enough, and if not beef it up with a little drop in ramp.

You'll be sliding rails all summer.

I'm diggin' the idea with the pvc rollers. We get a shitload of snow up here actually and there's still huge piles of it that the road commision piled up from the roads though so I still have real snow. Not for much longer though, it was 75 today.

I dont know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

get some of the old rentals from the hill. i know that mine has scores just hanging out in the pump house. that or buy a old pair of straits put skate board truks on the ends now you’ll go crazy fast and can still hit rails i have not tried it yet but i think it will work. Just watch out for getting them on if you live in the parries and half to build a ramp lime me this might be harder. Hopefully your skis will not flex to much.
