How to shrink my New Era hat

I just bought a new 7 3/8 new era hat thinking it would fit because my old hat is the same size, turns out i was wrong. So i don't really feel like going through the hassle of sending it back and waiting for a new one. My question is are there any ways that i could shrink my new hat so that it will fit my head better, and if there are how much will the hat actually shrink.

you could like sew a band of foam on the inside to make it tighter

might look weird though haha

well i would think that you'd have to do the same as you would with jeans
but that owuld take the sticker off! making it pointless in wearing!!!

hahahaha i never understood why people felt the need to show everyone what size hat they wear.

itll shrink a little if you wash it in the dishwasher but not much your best bet is to just mail it back and get the right size, i work at lids and i can tell you first hand that we get hats in everyday that are fucked up i can wear a 712-734 depending on what color and style of hat it is, good luck

It depends on how big it is on you. If its just a little loose you can spray the inside band with a spray bottle full of water and put it out in the sun on a coffee can or wear it on your head. If its more than just a little loose I'd send it back because they don't shrink that much.

get it wet constantly, ex; wear it when you get outa the shower or something. after a while it gets smaller

get the black band on the inside of the hat and get it wet and it will shrink. trust me. i did it before and thats how you do it.

if it's made of wool, polyester, or cotton, using high heat water and high heat drying should do the trick. i'm not guaranteeing it won't screw up your hat though, so don't wet the brim either. also, if it's synthetic, you risk ruining the hat completely seeing how they tend to melt and do strange things.

well you should really try on your hats before you purchase them but you can put it in the dishwasher and it will shrink
