how to right a song

ok so when righting a song do you make all the music for it also like the drums and the base line and stuff or do you just right the song and get memebers of the band to do there own stuff for it iam so confuzed >

How do you right a song? Did the song fall over and you have to set it upright?

Or did you mean to say 'write'?

If you have to ask this, maybe you shouldn't be writing a song at all. Everyone does it differently, there's no 'right' way to 'write' a song. Writing lyrics isn't writing a song- it's writing lyrics. To write a song, very basically, you've got to come up with your own chord changes, a melody, and a chorus.

Just jam with some kids and come up with something that sounds good and get everyone to work with it. Or you could just work on your own, make up a riff and expand and change things to make it good, then develop more riffs that fit together into a song. Or be a pussy and just have different power chords with nothing else and call it 'punk'
