Have this junior professor at my private college, teaching STAT 204

It was an open book exam, but the book is some no help fill in the blank paper binding coloring book her boss wrote.

this test did not allow access to excel---- straight equations

Got a 53 on the midterm, somehow like half the class did well. so no curve

'

her extra credit is like only 5% back on the exam... so what like maybe a 60 if im lucky.

I NEED to do well in this class.. and i dont know how much more she is willing to help me

inb4

- cant go down on her, i'd suffocate

- i go to everysingle class,, and have met with her a few times

open book test and 5% extra credit??

doesn't sound like the teachers fault to me, does your school have some sort of tutoring center?

Try taking your notes differently. Given that its a stats class Im assuming that you have a shit ton of equations you need to memorize, so Id try centering your notes around that. I took some academic coaching to raise my GPA last semester and they really stressed this. Just google some different techniques and try them out. Itll help you learn the material faster and help when it comes time for your final. And as said before STUDY

What I found made the difference for me in stats was treating it more like a math class. May sound obvious but for some reason it took me a bit to figure out- I'd know the theory but run out of time solving problems (ie. 94% on the theory exam but still nearly failed the lab exam). Studying the material is important, but doing lots of practice problems was key so I actually got familiar with how they were phrased/using the equations/how to approach them.
