How to reboot my pc?

So my computer is all fucked up and won't fully start windows xp somthin i think. I have the operating systems disc, I just don't know how to get the computer to take it and start with a fresh operating system. I am not that good with computers so if anyone knows how to do this, I would appreciate it a lot. It also might be that the computer is done. I don't know. and I'll give +k to any useful info

turn on the computer, and get the disk drive to open.

Put the disk in, and then hold the power button down till it shuts off

Then power it back on, and it should be loaded up to the installtion screen.

If that doesnt work, go into the BIOS when the computer logo pops up, and change the settings so that it boots from the CD drive first
 
nope i mean like it tries to start but only gets so far in booting up the system since its so screwed up
 
hold power button til your cpu shuts off.

load in safe mode.

system restore to a date that your cpu ran well.

try that first.
