How to Progress from Groomers

I've been skiing groomers and park for over 7 years, skiied many of the big resorts in the northeast and I want to switch to bigger mountains, back-country, lots of pow, etc. How should I start skiing pow as opposed to straight groomers, anything I should know and be aware of?Advice/Suggestions greatly appreciated +K

anywhere you can find trees is a good place to start. Even if you're not skiing on a powder day, you should still try to dip into the woods for a handful of runs. Skiing in and out of trees will definitely help you progress your timing and response to turning. Then Just dip into the trees when there's a good dump and enjoy it.

Yeah, however right now in VT nowhere's good to find pow... We've got ice on top of some more ice.

yea word i was up there this weekend in stratton and there was just a sheet of ice it was terrible and the glades were all iced up

You just gotta nut up and go off trail if you really want to get better, even if it means bumps or super tracked out snow. Pole plants are way more important and actually neccesary. Bend your knee's a bit more and sit down a little bit and just go at it.
