How to prepare ski base for waxing?

Hey guys,

I've just begun waxing my own skis and I read that prepping the ski base properly is really important so I'm wondering if you guys have any tips. Right now I just clean it with water and a cloth and brush a few times with a nylon brush before wiping with a cloth again.

Thanks

Get a brass brush & some Swix Glide Wax Cleaner.https://the-raceplace.com/collections/base-cleaner/products/swix-glide-wax-cleaner

Then start with a base prep. wax.http://www.dominatorwax.com/products/renewg

Then start putting on harder waxes after that.

Use the Glide Wax Cleaner each time before you re-wax the skis.

Watch this video from here.

You don't need the hot box, just iron the wax, then let the ski cool all the way, then iron the layer again. Do that at least three times for each grade of wax.

Search "waxing" on the search bar at my channel. Good luck.

All the waxing in the world only works when you have the right wax for the snow conditions and you SCRAPE AND BRUSH WELL. See this video for that.
