How to paint crowbars

Ok, i have a blk frame that is perfect for testing paint patterns and textures.(almost no face foam, about 1.3 layers left) and i want to know what kind of paint to use and some ideas for some dope patterns, after i paint them i'll def take some pics to show how they turned out.

i can see that i got some red pants so that might look dope w/ those. what im really hoping for in the start is something that i can paint them w/ then remove so i can paint them again if i wanted to.

yeah, i know how to paint them tape wise but like a type of paint that i could use then like remove, then paint a diff color/pattern on them. like types of paint, spray paint is usually pretty durrable, idk maby acrylic or fabric paint(i know its not fabric but im pretty sure fabric paint would just peal off after it dried)

i do have some sick ideas for patterns and textures though. possible one where you take and spray water on them so it beads up all over the goggles, then you spray paint over the water droplets, then dry the water w/ a heat gun or hair dryer and you have the apearence of water drops on your goggles, only done it on hard plastic stuff though so idk how it would work on the rubbery crowbars.

Definitely want to see these when you're done. A navy and yellow would look pretty dope, or a red and yellow. Pinstripe sounds sick.

Just paint over them? Not like you need to strip the first paint job for a second one, you're not painting a house here.

alright, im gonna start to paint them, red/ white first since thats the only idea iv heard so far, i might just start out w/ tape and sharpie to begin and then move on. i know i could paint over them but i just like starting w/ a clean canvas, ya know?

yeah i have a matte blk frame that doesnt really have the face foam that makes them so comfy so i'll be painting these till im satified w/ them then trying it out on one of my other frames.

word, that sounds like the way to go paint wise. i'll have to pick up a few colors depending on price. hook me up with some ideas for colors guys!!

ok, pics up as soon as i can find my dang camera. im just using blue and white tape right now. so i'll play around w/ those designs.

its gonna flake off. painted frames are usually done inside the injection mold. same thing for any kinda graphics, that way its imbedded in the plastic. goggle frames are PVC, which is a fairly hard material to paint, especially when they are that flexible. go ahead and try, but ive done it before a few times, it doesnt really work.

the best bet is to dye white frames

theres #1

i'll start making diff combo's of those since thats all i can do tonight.

and ty for the info on painting them. im gonna try it anyway's even if it doesnt work but thats why im practicing on these so if i mess up it doesnt matter.

just came up w/ some siiiiiiick c bars, and they'r complete, very simple but crazy tight anyways. images in a few mins.

haha! its athletic tape, and a darn good job of it i think, i did have a little trouble rounding that corner but they still look dope. if i painted them i think i would def go a little more colored/intricate, not alot but pin stripes sound good to me.

haha whoops you beat me to the post. if you want to use tape you could actually cover the whole plastic part and then use a razor blade to cut out the parts you dont want covered such as the holes for the outriggers

that wouldnt be a bad idea actually, i did tape over the holes and cut them out though. just had problems turning that corner tightly. i think the center lower part looks like they'r actually white though which is tight.

yeah man they look sick... i might have to make a variation of that on my black ones. just get a small razor or xacto knife and youll be able to cut perfectly along the curves near the lens and where the outriggers attatch(make sure to take the lens out though!)

oh hell yes, i put the lens in last. they already have a small and very unoticable knife wound. i dont even remember how it happened but after i remember i was piiised. even though it was so small. and yours would look even sicker w/ the blk retro strap. oh and to get the outrigger tips diff colors, i just put a piece of blk tape over the one on the left in the pic.

i would think sharpie would work really well, like aplication wise but idk if it wouldnt just rub off after like a week.

ive heard the krylon fusion paint works good on plastics so id guess if you wereto paint them it be your best bet ive used on other plastic and it works quite well

those look so dope. I couldnt even tell it was tape till I read it.

and you could cover the whole thing in tape and then sharpie it/spray paint

heres my first run through. kinda messed up the spacing and angles a little but i think they turned out pretty good. sorry for the cell phone pic.

fully covered in tape, kinda crapy job of it in places but w/e and the begining of making my crowbars a candy cane. hope they turn out good.

thanks dude, im not a huge fan of rasta colors but i have a line rasta beanie that looks dope with the stripes. i used colored electrical tape for mine and then an xacto knife to cut around the frame.
