well whenever i spin i seem to carve off the jump, i know it looks smoother, but jeez its a bit harder to throw a fast spin when ur carving off of a jump and i also seem to loose speed when i carve, any clew y i carve or how to not carve
keep your skis pointed directly at the lip and pop. usually when you carve you dont have to pop, you body just kinda goes into rotation. bend your knees keep your skis straight. pop and spin. id work on trying to spin faster while carving. it looks so much better.
you can carve and spin big...you just have to go a little bigger than normal...I wouldn't recommend it on a smaller jump because you would need to land lower than your normal sweet spot, so you would need an adequate size jump in the first place. Or practice on a tramp, that will help you go off more straight and pop.
I use to only be able to carve off jumps. I started spinning with my feet way wider and that helped a lot. Just keep them wide all the way off the jump and you won't carve.
why would you want to stop carving? if you want to spin bigger just wind up a bit. i think carving makes it look better and for me it makes it a lot easier. but definitely dont carve doing a 180
actually haha i find it easier to carve, i do enjoy it cause i feel it looks smoother and yai guess i prob could huck a big spin in a carve, i will see tomrow becuz its my mountains big air comp so maybe i see tormow when i throw 7's and my switch jumpins effed so i actually started switch carving haah
