How to make skis softer

Alright so I know you can’t really change the stiffness of skis but does anyone have any tricks to make skis even a little bit softer like breaking them in kinda? I want them to be just a little bit softer for butters (K2 Press for anyone wondering)

Put clamps on either ends of the ski with nothing supporting the middle and the put like 300lbs in the middle. Who knows maybe it will work

Ski them, press and butter them as much as you can while you ski. Other than that, don't do some dumb shit like trying to put weight on them and bend them in your garage. If you really don't like them, get different skis

standing in place, do butters using ur poles as crotches

All you can really do is try to ski them as hard as you can and flex them as much as possible. Having stronger legs will be a benefit

Those skis aren't super stiff anyway, but yeah just ski them as much as you can. Do tip stands and butters or whatever you can think of that flexes the ski. Skis will break in a lot. I have a pair that started out full camber and now look slightly rockered from the bindings forward.

Max Hill used to put his skis on two cinder blocks and would jump up and down on the middle to make them softer.

Why would you want skis to be softer? There is no point in doing butters. In a butter you don't spin much and you just look like you are falling. This is why Andri doesn't compete in knucke huck. He knows that they look dumb and he doesn't want to lose his reputation.

Anyway I heard of you put your skis in your oven, they'll start to soften up. Just be sure not to let them melt

How do you put the skis in the oven. LOL. LMAO.

OK find a tub that can fit your skis and pour 5 gallons of bleach into the tub, enough to completely submerge your skis. Let your skis soak for about 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, take 1 gallon of Ammonia and mix that into the bleach, stirring occasionally. You may feel light headed or weird but that's the solution working its magic. Continue stirring occasionally for about 40 minutes and the solution will break down the fiberglass just enough so you'll be able to butter them no problem!

Yeah I actually forgot I tried this once. They made my skis so soft that it knocked me out when I woke up I had my dad standing over me with a gas mask, fun times!

Does anyone have the pic of the skis some guy made a vice for and bent the shit put them so they came out looking like bananas

theres already a thread on this, this is the best way to do it

Actually the pic is how to make camber skis reverse-camber without spending money on new skis.

I loved that thread.

For softening skis, ride them in crud and huge cliff hucks. After a couple seasons, they will start to flop a bit. The 2015 Head Venturi 95 took 2 seasons to have them to park standards
