How to make a legit glide cam?

buy a 3 foot section of threaded rod...the width of the rod should 5/16ths i think.. make a gimble joint out of pvc and skate bearings( heat the pvc to seat the skate bearings).. 5/16th threaded rod should fit nicely with skate bearings..build something to mount your camera on..and something to attach the weight system.. pretty easy.. I just kinda winged it and mine turned out alright.. pvc breaks when it is cold tho.. ill try to get pictures up soon.. it's at my parents house.. I made a glidecam for a t2i

if you know there is other threads on it. why did you make a thread about it. there is one that was like yesterday that has plenty of good answers

theres nothing that compares to a glidecam in its price point. DIY's can do the job if though out well, but wont be the same as the real glidecam.

just save up some more $ and buy it

i know i just realized that too sorry but i think if you just use another pvc for the main post and then at the bottom a T but i dont know about the top

just buy an actual glidecam, no diy has come close to the quality of an actual one

thats sweet. i actually have the chance to machine anything i want for a class this quarter so i might try and make one of those
