How to keep from spinning

So whenever i get onto a box i can't stop spinning, like i want to jump, do like a 90 degree turn, slide then do another 90 degrees to come switch out, but on longer boxes and ones with kinks i can't stop spinning, and i can't spin off of boxes/rails yet so i just end up falling. This kills my rail ability way worse than boxes too... is there something im doing wrong

Don't shoot for 90 degrees on it's your initial momentum that keeps you spinning. Maybe plan on doing like 70 degrees on with your shoulders squarte or just short of square with the rail, you should be able to look down and see it the whole time and not turn your shoulder past it. Or just use that continuing movement and it will make it easier to 270 off.

That was the worst advise ever, dont turn 90 and look down? Just keep your shoulders square and look at the end of the box.

look at the end of the rail/box, and keep a lower centre of gravity. I used to have a similar problem. Also, stomp the rail/box.

yeah that's it. don't try to spin 90 degrees and stop instantly: it's impossible. you should, if you only want to do a normal slide, turn almost just your skis and legs and keep your body lookig forward. I think this will help. then you will slowly get comfortable and you can slide normally

basically just look at the end of the rail the whole time, never take your eyes off of it. you wont spin more than 90

wrong dude, maybe i misphrased...instead of sliding the box treat the coping on one side (for me right foot forward so right side) as if it was a rail...

Horrible advise, you should listin to what i said and what some dude up there said, keep your eyes on the end if the rail and u wont spin.

nonoono, if you dont want to spin, its veryy simple. 1) although your hips and feet should be at 90 degrees, have you upper body just slightly tilted foward. 2 keep you legs loose and kness slightly bent. When you have legs straight, it is much more likely to spin around. how straight my legs are is one of the main ways i adjust when spinning around on boxes on purpose.

i used to have a problem on boxes where i used to start spinning switch off the box too early and riding the box switch but after some practice of changing my stance and balance i fixed it

oh and one time on a rail i starting coming out switch before the rail ended and my brother was watching and he said i was doing a switch 50-50 for a couple of seconds, it all happened so fast though

If you dont want to spin on a box you just have to stomp it. You gotta stiffen up your legs right as you get on the box, then you loosen up your legs and try to keep your weight down low.

keep your hips and skis 90 degrees to the rail and keep your shoulders facing the end of the box, but not totally parallel. and look at the end of the box

thanks guys. so try to stomp the landing, but then keep my shoulders square with more of a bend in the knee. sounds good, that is kinda what i was thinking, but when i was tryin shit was not working, so i'll just try harder

I've come to the conclusion that you're a douche bag.

Let the guy take the advice that he wants. You don't need to let everybody know that you're right and the rest of them are wrong. What works for you might not work for others. GET YOUR MIND RIGHT.

seriously, watching the end of the rail is key. i used to think this was BS, but then after working on 270 ons, I had to start looking at the end of the rail to get centered and stay there. also whoever said low center of gravity is right on.
