How to keep bandanas from getting wet/freezing?

Maybe im the only one with this problem but I guess my breath has alot of moisture and it quickly accumlates on the bandana. After the bandana becomes damp it then will start to feeze. Does anyone else have this problem/have a solution?
 
that happens to anybody that wears a banda as well as me the only thing i can think of is buy water proofing for shoes and spray it on and see if it works and if it does post it back on this thread
 
Buy some waterproofer. Its like 5 bucks at most sporting goods stores. Most people use it for shoes and stuff, but it keeps really anything waterproof. Spray it on a papertowel, and it wont get wet.
 
Same problem. Gets super annoying, there are bandanas that have waterproof outside or somthing. But there not steezy at all. Tell me if that shoe shit works
 
one option is to buy a burton half bandana that is fleece lined and has a little mesh bit in right by your mouth to stop it getting damp on the inside. it keeps your face so much warmer as there is no build up of condensation.
 
cept its been around 0-5 F and to me thats cold and my chin gets raped. Ive only worn it 3 times so far this season but it seriously makes skiing much more enjoyable not having a fuckin cold chin/mouth just from the wind and such
 
i have a pretty sick neff bandana thingy that is really warm and i think its waterproof. i dont know what its called but it has some strings you tie around your neck. pretty dope
 


get jersey material or under armor.

if u have a old under armour shirt cut the sleeves and it will go over ur face.

the jersey one u have to be creative go to value village get a shitty jersey and cut it up.

either way u cant stop the bandana from freezing all the time cause u will always provide moisture from just breathing.
 
What I've been doing is using real animal fur cut in the shape of a steezy bandana..I even shaved a little orage emblem into the fur on the outside (it's rabbit fur). Since it's real leather, it wicks moisture like none other, and the fur is like the best insulation ever known..let me know what you think..I could send a pattern or something...

im pretty sure that ec headwear makes 2 gator type things wwith a soft inside for the face....and line makes there bandanas with a gatoir material near the mouth
 
don't breathe, duh.

but seriously spraying on waterproofer is a bad idea. you don't want the particles going into your lungs. breathing petrochemicals and shit is gonna fuck up your breathing for the rest of your life
 
i either change them out or dont ware them. only way to solve it w/ out breathing "petrochemicals" which i dont know what those are. but yeah
 
something tells me soaking a bandana in water proofing solution will only be bad for your health seeing as you'll breathe it in constantly. I know if you have another layer between your face and the bandana it gets less wet/frozen over the course of a day.
 
if you leave them on the whole time they will stay warm as long as you keep on breathing into it and youre not a zombie or something
 
agreed somewhat. bandanas were first used to protect your face from sunburn in the summer but people still kept wearing them in the winter. now skiers are looking lie they are ready to rob a train or something
 
yeah and when it gets too hot pull it down so your nose is sticking out to breathe or just pull it down for a short time and put it up when you want
 
yeah that will happen unless you put more on or have some kind of flannel lining cause as long as your breath doesn't freeze you won't have that problem
 
i wear 2 bandanas at the same time when its cold, just one over the other and the outside one freezes but the inside just gets moist and warm from my breath
 
I have a fleece backed bandanna that I sewed together, and even though it freezes, it still is warm.

I think that Neff makes one too.
