How to Jump and Land

Ok this may seem like the most stupid thing ever but I don't usually go skiing that often, and a few years ago I just couldn't land any jumps. (well I did once)

Maybe I'm missing the most basic thing?

What's the trick to jump and land?

im surpised theres been no bashing yet, ns is really shaping up. But ya balance is the key as all of the people above me said. That and making sure your skis land at the same angle as the landing and your weight centered

haha i just had this thought. I think NS is a lot cooler in the winter time, because all of us skiing addicts can get our fix in and we are a lot more chill. In the summer, theres no skiing to be found and we are like a bunch of crack addicts gone cold turkey and everyone is pissed off at eachother hahahah.

remeber to pop and lock of the lip and loosen up just before u land. Just do some straightairs and try to keep your weight slightly foreward.

find some smaller jumps, maybe on the side of a run, you'll get a feel for being in the air and then finding your balance to land. Dont start going that big, you find yourself getting injured.

balance is def the key, as your in the air you kinda want to adjust your weight forward so that your landing with the slope of the landing as someone else said

i dont know if you jave ever skateboarded or rollerbladed alot on transitions... like quarter pipes or mini ramps, but there if you have you will be familiar with pumping.

as you ride up the lip you want to pump up... as if you are riding up a quarter pipe. dont fully extend though, pump enough to get your center of balance parralell to the top of the lip.

you need a little bit of pop to get yourself upright, and that momentum should carry you forward just enough to match the angle of the landing.

keep pressure on the front of your boots when your riddin the lip. not a ton, just dont be in the backseat.

try to make the landing. It helps a butload. Like the first year i kept hucking the knuckle and that hurt like shit. The first real time i got to the tranny landing was so much easier and smoother.

crouch over the front of your boot as you approah the jump, and then as you hit the lip, extend you body-like popping sort of. sort of shoot up and don't worry about style if you are doing your first straight airs. that'll come later.
