How to get security tags off?

haha i had to get those things off all the time at my old job. when even the special little remover tool couldnt get them off a hammer always worked.
 
take a knife and cut that mother fucker off, you stole that shit so its not like your losing money by putting a small hole in what ever it is.
 
condom. I kid you not. take a lubricated condom, and wrap it around the metal needle part on the big side (the side that the needle is stuck into). then just go back and fourth a bunch, rubbing it all around the pin as close to the inside of the plastic housing as possible. may take a minute or two, but works
 
take it back to the store and show them the receipt and tell them that they forgot to take the tag off. done.
 
be careful because if it is one of those tags with ink inside them, ur kinda screwed...put in freezer for awhile then smash it off with hammer :)
 
Just open the half that the pin goes into with a hacksaw and pliers, then you can release it without damaging the shirt or whatever. I've bought stuff and they've left the tag on so don't call this kid out for stealing, even though he probably has stolen it :p
 
i'm not gonna judge, the store could have left it on, but if you are asking people how to steal things then just go somewhere else and be a waste of life. get a job!
 
i didnt steal shit. the retard just left it on, one of my shirts. and im pissed. im not about to drive 30 minutes back to the mall to get it off.
 
plyers. i used to work in a clothing store that used them and theyre easy as hell to get out. just some brute force with plyers will separate it a little then you can sneak wire cutters in underneath
 
fucin use a condom, are you guys deaf? why would you chance using a hacksaw or hammer? or better yet freezing your shirt, when the pin could just as easily slide out?
 
haha the sports store did the exact same thing w/ my shoes. so now we gotta drive like 30 minutse back out there to get the fucking thing off
 
There are endless numbers of things that could destroy a little plastic dealy to the point of unrecognizability. Like bolt cutters. However, if there's ink in it, you're fucked. You could get a soldering iron and melt all the plastic off the little circle part of it until only the pin is left.
 
you uh.. COULD always go up to the front cash, pay for it. then have it removed by the employee who is serving you.

then you wouldnt have to do anything at all!

But there's tons of ways to do it. No ink tags? No problem then. Realize that ALL security tags are, essentially, a thin metal pin that goes through the garment, with plastic/metal at either end, holding it all together. The hard part is walking out without setting off alarms. Once you're home, you have hours to get it off.

Now, you basically need a decent set of wire cutters. It's easiest to use and has the least potential to do damage to the item you just..ahem...uh...bought.

Security tags have two ends: the end with a little bit of plastic and a pin in it, and the end with more plastic, the thing that sets off the sensor, and a hole to accept the pin. They all work on a magnetic basis, so if you fucked around with a strong enough magnet...

Or you can just hack it off with the wire cutters. Can't you google a tutorial on this?
 
Most magnets won't do it. Like I said, you just need to open up the part with the hole in it and then you can release the pin
