How to get form portland to hood?

hey guys me and my buddie are from seattle and we think that we are going to be in portland for spring break. looking into many options for rides. i 14 and hes 15 so we cant drive so does any one know of any ways to get from downtown to timberline? or maybe if any one is heading out that way we would like give you some gass money for sure. this might be crazy but im trying.

there's a bus that runs from bend to portland and back called the oregon breeze and it stops in govy. then you can hitchhike up the access road. google it.
