How to get corks around?

Alright so I pretty much understand how to do a cork 5, which is the next trick I'm going for. I know exactly how to go off axis, but I've never actually heard anyone explain how to get my feet below me before I land. I feel like unless there's a midget standing in the landing area getting waiting to get flying kicked in the face, the trick would be a total fail, ending with me landing sideways. I've asked my older brother who's really good at off axis spins and mistys and rodeos and shit, but the best I got out of him is "You just have to feel it". Anyone with experience got any tips?

I would go for a cork 7 first, as long as you know how to throw it your feet will come around.

Have you ever done anything corked on a tramp? U dont really think about getting your feet under you, you just commit and it happens

Thanks guys I'll give it a try this weekend...I'll either end up learning a new trick, or getting some funny bail out videos.

Idunno but i always tend to land on my feet and then fall over when i try cork5s so the crash itself is pretty harmless. Guess i gotta get more corked?

you should throw the first 180 and be fully corked out (parallel to the ground)

then the next 180 you'll still be pretty corked but you come out a little bit

but then the last 360 is really just a time to spin out of the cork

try looking up and kinda pull yourself out of it after you throw it and it should come around

good luck

Thanks man. So should my body be parallel to the ground with my head facing toward the jump or to the side? And could you tell me in detail where I should be looking throughout the jump? Everyone says look toward the jump, not up.

i really feel like everyone that jumps on the cork 7's are easier than cork 5's either hasn't done them or can't commit to a cork becuase a cork 5 is one of the easiest tricks out there. when you set the spin off the lip you want to throw your right hand towards your left tail and try to put your chest parallel to the ground. if you commit you don't even have to think about coming out of the cork and you'll just stomp it. cork 7's are just a more spin to less cork ratio.

I like to carve off the jump and kinda stair at the the tip of my tail and it throws me in and at about 180-270 ish i find a mute grab but otherwise tail grabs come straight away.

ite so you want to do a cork right? well first off you gotta just punch tha midgeet.. if that doesnt work just put the seatbelt on.. if that doesnt work just fuckin carve that shit and just set that lead blunt like its no ones jay.
good luck

I landed my first cork 5 today first try. They are surprisingly easy. I was scared shitless, but it came right around. Don't worry about putting your feet down or anything, it just happens automatically. Put your ear to your shoulder and grab tail. You will stomp it.

fuck i need to get corks down as well...so putting time into a powder jump would be a good thing if i want to learn one i guess right?

not to thread jack but while im thinking of it i can backflip frontflip underflip lincoln loop and im wondering what i should try next i've attemped rodeos but that didnt work out but what do you think is the next easiest inverted trick?

Thats funny, because i can do cork fives sevs and nines, and seven is by far the easiest. The way you explained it is the way i throw underflips, but everybody does stuff different so it could just be me. The way i do cork fives is i carve really hard off the lip and grab either leading safety or tail and set my spin like a less flippy underflip. Still a pretty easy and fun trick.

When I learned them it was explained as "driving the truck." Worked for me, it's a pretty good analogy.
