HOW TO GET A SPONSOR?

you cant just GET a sponsor dumbass...

you have to proove yourself to a company. WHY would they want to sponsor YOU? WHAT are you going to do for THEM? HOW are you going to represent their product?

Once you find the answers to these questions, then maybe you'll have a clue.

Start off by getting a job in a ski shop, then you will be constantly around the ski reps.

work to live...not live to work.

work to ski...but only if you ski to work. The simple equation to skibumming 101

...i didnt do it

yeah getting a job at a ski shop would be the best, not even a ski shop but just a small privately owned sports store that sells ski equipment would work...once u get to kno everyone + the owner, ask for a partial sponsor, work ur way up from there

^so true.

u have to ask yourself why do u want to be sponsored? do u thikn your good? or do u just want hookups? for me i don't want to be sponsored, i dont need it i have a sick set up right now. Also, u would be surprised how fuckin good u have to be its not like one day u wake up and your all like wee im sponsored. If u really want to get sponsored get skiing and send a tape into the super unknown contest.

sickz one three represent.

Thats pretty stupid to say wait for people to come to you, you want to promote and sell yourself.

hijack a shoot, or for all you big mountain types, straight line something huge and steep as shit... actually, the straightline wwould prolly only get a compliment... but it would still be fun

Just wait until the next february issue of FREEZE comes out. They will give you the phone numbers and addresses for every rep and team manager of every major ski company.

I hope yall recognized how thick I laid out the sarcasm dere.

I don't deny there are bad things in the US right now, hell, 51% of the country to be exact. But god damnit, our country being fat is NOT a problem. I do't give a shit how fat people are. hell, fat kids are harder to kidnap, that means our country is safer.

talking to local shops and sending in vids does nothing, you need to know people. Dosent matter how good you are as long as you know people.

well i think that some of it has to do with how good you are...yeah and the right people...and for shops a video does work just bug em enough...but dont waste all your time doing that go out and ski like everyone is saying...good luck with that

If you get sponsored because you know people, you don't deserve shit and your bs is screwing someone more deserving out of product because you have it.

You would be valuable to a company if they think that sponsoring you would result in more sales. That happens through exposure in movies, magazines, newspapers and online, or by being a recognizable figure in the industry, or through your connections to shops that could carry the product but don't yet.

If you wreck shop at a major competition, you will get sponsorship offers at the bottom of your run.

I suggest offering accomodations at your fat pad (see vic's profile) in exchange for product

DONT listen to all that 'If you are good enough, the sponsors will come to you'-crap. Its not true. (Unless you're REALLY good) You have to be active in the sport. Do competitions, do a whole season in the mountains, get a small job were you meet alot of skiers, go to different bars and meet people and become good friends with as many people in the community as possible!

Then if you're lucky, you'll earn a reputation. And you can start looking for possible sponsors... The minute people start to notice you and respect you, is the minute you're worth something to the sponsors... How they notice you doesn't really matter... If its skiing or just being a nice skier... No matter...

If the sponsors feel, that you can represent their product in a respecful manner, and people will take your word for it, when you tell them that those them 'Oaleys' or 'Ossignol'-skis your on, are just perfect - they'll sponsor you.
