ohh ohh you don't mean deleting it...ok well its pretty simple...take your hardrive out of yours and put it in his! he probably has an extra bay in his computer

Looks like rain to me.

^that's kinda a good point, but installing a hd get's pretty advanced. anyways, the premiere file itself isnt that large, what if you use 3-4 cds and copy all of the clips over then put them all on his hd. Then all you have to do is re-tell premiere where the files are located. (This will work if you clips are less than 700MB.. if not, there are some splitter's out there.

It'd be easier to export the final DV file and then split that and burn to CD rather than transport all the clips over the the Premiere file. That way you just have to re-join all the bits into one file instead of re-joining some clips that are over 700mb (but not all), worrying about having them in the right directory so the Premiere file can see them, having Premiere installed on the other machine, etc. The DVD Burning program will be able to work with the DV file.

Was just thinking, if all the DV files total 2GB, that means the movie as a whole is 10 mins or less (DV .avi or .mov is 200mb/min). If you could encode the mpeg2 for the DVD on your machine you could probably burn the final .vob onto a CD? It'd end up around 700mb.

since i can't really understand what these guys are saying then maybe you can't either. Heres how I would do it.

I would put the raw footage in premiere and produce the first few minutes of the movie then burn it to a cd. Do that until you have everything burned onto a cd. Then just put the cd's in your friends computer.

Or you could take out his DVD burner and put it in your computer for awhile.

okay, i just gotta say...please stop making the FARP video things. Its cool if you wanna make them and all, but dont make a website about it etc. Or at least get better first. You are hurting the industry. When snowboarders see skiers like Fred and Randall doing stupid flailing 360 attempts 8 inches off the ground, they laugh there heads off, and skiing takes another blow. So please, if you wanna make your movies, thats cool. But just stop trying to get noticed. Thats all. Peace. P.S. Your spinning the wrong way.-sunvalleyskibum

Just buy a DVD writer, especially if you're going to be doing something similar in the future - it will save a whole lot of hassle. I just picked one up yesterday for £75 (UK). Otherwise, export to tape like dude above said, unless you don't have DV-in on your camera.

why not just send it over msn or soemthing

dont listen to any of these guys. the easyest way is winrar - like winzip. you put all your files into the rar file and it will create 3 or so different rar files - each file small enough to put on cd. whne you want your footage back, just put the cds back in and copy the 3 rar files back to your comp, and unzip and your files will all be there, same quality as before and you wont have to spend 8 fucking hours trying to encode the files down to a smaller size

Suggestion: convert to mpeg2 like ausskiier said. I've just converted a 1Gb AVI file (5 mins) to mpeg2 and it ended up as 285Mb, so your 2Gb file will fit on a CD-R no problem. You'll be converting to mpeg2 to get it onto DVD anyway. DVDRhelp.com has everythign you need to know.

thanks piot, what was wrong with my suggestion...that's how I operate, although I do have some advanced video filters...so why was that a bad suggestion? oh yeah, it isn't you just try to hassle me to make yourself feel better about your lousy ass life...have a nice day
