How to function on less sleep

usually when i go to sleep, i feel like i need 10 hours to be perfectly rested. its been proven that humans need roughly 8 hours of sleep. is there any way i can make it so i don't need as much sleep and don't feel like shit the next day? energy drinks and caffeine don't do much for me and i ran outa coke and crystal meth so thats out.

the problem with that is, i actually ran out. i was trying to harvest crank the other day in my dorm, but i ran outa draino too. what are the odds.

you fuck.

you just need to start forcing yourself to only sleep 8 hours a day. you will feel like shit for a while but then you will get used to it.

well i know i can do that. i could also just try to go to sleep earlier, but the thing is, i want to actually function on less sleep. not like find other places i put it. i want to go to bed at like 2 and get up at 7 feeling refreshed. if there was a way to simulate REM sleep and dreaming, or fabricate it into a pill, that would be genius.

not that i'm asking kids on NS that are like 16 years old to do that, i'm just curious to see if theres like a method of sleeping better and getting more REM sleep.

i'm going to try that. today i slept from 12-1130, but tomorrow i have class at 8. and last night i was drunk so that doesn't help.

i get 5-6 on average. its not hard once you get used to it. i actually feel more tired if i get any more than 8 on the weekends

God, if I get 7 hours I feel like I'm indulging myself. Usually I'm lucky to get 6 on weeknights. I'm tired right now but there's not much I can do about that.

excersize! get up and go for a run or do something like that before class, i always have a dance session before i go to school

ditto, i usually only get 4-5 before work as I work too damn early, I just adapted to it after a while. I am an innsomniac though which is the most annoying thing ever, wanting to sleep but not being able to but being tired and then worrying that i need to sleep and then I cant and then....

just sleep less and less each day, kinda like slowly getting yourself off sleeping so much. you will get used to it for the most part...

thatll do it alright... just gotta commit the time, or get someone else in so youre guilted into it and cant flake.

i on the other hand look like a total douche because i can honestly say that on any given day not sleeping through my alarm and generally waking up is undoubtedly the most difficult part of the day. my profs loved it...

Do excersises in the morning like running, i swear it helps! or take a cold shower in the morning!

yeah i sleep 5 1/2 hours a nite for the most part i go to be around 12 and get up at 5:30 for work sometimes i feel tired mostly on sun and mon mornings but then im fine just exercise and make yourself get up earlier then you will be set

the solution is to not be a pussy and drink a bunch of coffee and deal with feeling like shit. i usually get 5-6 hours of sleep 8 on a good night. just deal with it or go to bed ealrier.

another thing that could be causing you trouble is just not getting good enough sleep while you are sleeping. try different sleeping conditions like new blanket or pillows or temperature or anything. even if you think you sleep really well you might not be.

I usually get 3-4 hours of sleep a night when I work in the summer(7 days a week) and when school starts I get maybe one more.  but now its super easy to stay awake and function because your body gets used to it.  also, when I wake up I do a line of coke, best wake up treatment ever!

A while ago I heard that it was better for you to get 15 minutes of sleep opposed to a 3 hour nap. And I am one who goes to bed late and wakes up early. So I taught myself to take 15 minute naps. It took a while to learn, but now I can lay down and close my eyes for 15 minutes, and wake up extremely refreshed. And after doing this for about 6-9 months already, it has helped me function without getting a full 8 hours of sleep.

It takes a while for your body to get used to it, but it'll adapt to less sleep within a couple weeks. Back when I was in the army, we would go 2-3 days without a solid sleep (naps here and there) and we were still able to function normally, albeit being quite tired. An average night sleep would be between 3 and 4 hours, and most of the time you wake up in the morning feeling refreshed. I find exercise and a cold shower also help to wake you up and get going, even if it's just a quick 10-15 minute jog. Breakfast is key, you want to have a nice light meal with lots of fruit to keep you feeling great.

im calling an alias on this...not even a funny one. I hope you and your real name gets banned

wtf is aderol...my brother has a prescription to it..he doesnt have add...he just said its like 10 times the strength of cocaine and it gets u wired for a while

no im dead serious im not an alias, and i did this to my brother, with a knife of course and not in his butthole but like around his ass and he was up for hours but he ate the pretzels on his own will

I usually only get like 6 a night but i get another hour and half or 2 hours in the afternoon.

sometimes if im lucky i get 7 and a half. damn newschoolers and colbert report are keeping me up

its not hard, i learned it over winter brake last year, id stay up till like 1 in tha morning and tehn get up at 5/6 and go ski

i can go on 5 hours of sleep but the hardest part for me is getting up after that im good

yeah, same here. I usually go for 4 hours minimum. I've been sleeping a lot though lately cause Im really sick, but wait until college. there is no way you can get 8 hours of sleep. 6 hours is good.

if you eat a solid breakfest it helps a lot in giving you energy to last till lunch. it helps me stay awake and my stomach never gets that empty feeling. then when lunch comes eat a healthy lunch. maybe throw in a coffee somewhere in the day

man for me its all about when I wake up...

when I wake up at 8 or 8.30 I feel great no matter when i went to bed.

Its waking up for school at 6 that kills me!

once i got back to school ive been goin with 5 hrs, at first it sucked but now i couldnt tell the difference, and i actually feel more tired if i get more sleep

i sleep about 4-6 hrs a night. and im always fine and energetic.

cut coffee out of your diet and smoke weed before you sleep. i dont know why but it works for me!

I don't have classes that start before 10 or 11 this semester, so I get about 8 or 9 hours on weekdays and a bit less on weekends, and trust me, it makes a big difference in your day.

i go to bed mad early, sleep is important to me. but i also have kinda the same problem...... if i dont wake up on my own, and on a scheduled time, i feel kinda shitty. so make sure you just have a good breakfast and keep feeding your body the energy you need.

this is along the same lines of excersize, but depending on you would take prob. less time and def. would get you excited for mornings,

if youve got a gf have a quicky in the morning before class? haha

i think its only possible for some people, if i didnt get to sleep more than 8 hours then i wont be able to wake up to go to school and function right, but then theres girls i know who go to bed at 2 wake up at 7 and are fine. prescription drugs are seriously not the answer tho, they will just cause more shit that will go wrong and will eventualy lead to more pillz. Smoke a bunch of weed and pass out super early if you have to wake up early. Thats what i do
