How to flat spin

To bad its way more complicated than that, do you even no what a flat spin is?

And i cant do them, but its basicly an uninverted rodeo, so learn rodoes, then just trying throwing it flat, lay it out more every time, thats what i would do.

hit a super lippy jump, set for a 3,5,7 whatever, and drop your following shoulder(if your spinning to the left, drop your right shoulder)and tuck up your knees it helps to grab high up on the ski(not under your boot) generally thigh higher up you grab the flatter(less inverted) your trick is, hope that helped

For a left spinning flat spin 540: Find a jump where you will get decent hieght, and dont travel to far. Also look at the lip to see how hard to have to set it, (lots of lip, set less, little lip set more.) Go into the jump with your legs bent and you need to be nice and comfopratable. POP! POP! POP!, i cant stress enough to pop. as you pop, swwep ypur left shoulder down as if you were grabbing safety. Try this in your computer chair and your torso should sort of bend over. Now look directly down at your shoulder. This should happen as one motion. Now that you are in the air keep following your shoulder, and bring your feet up level with your shoulders. You are now in the "flatspin position". This isnt hard to get into, but getting out is a different story. As you spin to 360 Start to find your landing by looking DOWN. At 360 you should DEFINITLY be thinking of getting back to your straight up position. Keep looking at that ground and as you get to 540 you should be back on your feet. This Takes alot of practice and some bruising. Ive put my tooth through my lip trying to learn, but once you get it, they get very easy. Try it on a slushier day, and confidence is key. If your not feeling it dont push yourself.

ok find jump ski toward jump if u dont crash before the lip pop right at the end of the jump do a flat spin a proceed to crash. there are directions for your first 50 or so of them have fun

hmm, on takeoff look over your leading shoulder directly behind you and sligltly up to set it. Basically you do alot of rodeos until you have the ability to toy with the rotation and set it flat. Or your like me and you just flatspin trying to do rodeos.

enter like a cork and instead of keeping the spin going nice and flow-ish, try to kick up with the knees, backflip style. that's what i think, and it seems to work fine fo mAY!!

havent taken it to the hill as much as i have to the tramp. But on tramp is where id suggest learning AND getting it in the bag first. (leading = for example, right spin, right shoulder - right shoulder here is leading shoulder)

Now my version of flatspins, the same but explained simpler possibly :

-POP, set your rotation with this

-dip your leading shoulder down (this is not a flipping motion so dont huck back, just dip back easy) and bring your legs up at the same time (this helps a LOT in the rolling motion of this trick), these motions will bring your back to the earth, (if it brings your stomach to the earth you threw your trailing shoulder down and you're now doing cork)

-anyhow..., it IS easy to get to this position as stated before, but if youre pop/set is wrong you wont come out of it.

-You must continue to look the direction you are spinning and look for the ground, it will become visable around the 360 point, from here let your legs drop (open up for landing) and your body will right itself.

**** notes :P

- if you are commiting, spinning, but landing on your stomach or back (not coming back onto axis) try slowing it down a bit or/and really trying to look for that landing when it comes around

*** 7's

- to bring this past a 5 (sometimes there's a Huge learnign curve for people to get from off axis 5's to 7's) you must view this as a spin trick and not a flipping/rolling trick. flips or rolls will naturally put you out at a 540 mark, to spin the 7, simply set your spin harder, look into your spin like before, but at the 360 don't concentrate onyour landing yet, you can start to come back onto axis, and should be, but focus on holding your body shape in the air and looking into your spin, do not open for landing until you are solidly at the 540 point. you may spin a few "630's" here when learning, but don't be discouraged, just get more comfortable, set, spin, tuck, and hold off opening up for landing just a split longer.
