How to fix topsheep delams?

define delams...is it really just chipping or is the topsheet separating form the rest of the ski (there is a HUGE difference).

If it's just chipping, either don't worry about it or, if it bothers you, carefully take a razor blade (again...CAREFULLY!) and slice the chips off the ski, this will help prevent them from getting worse...just be careful not to slice your finger.

If it is actually separating from the rest of the ski, there's a few options depending on severity, option one is superglue or epoxy and duct tape to help put it back together, after a short while you can take the duct tape back off and they should be fine. If its pretty bad, you can either have them riveted by a shop or get something like this (see picture below) and small screws to hold them together by wrapping the metal around the tip/tail where the delam is to hold it together.

Option 3 of the true delam is send them in for warrantee, this is if they're REALLY bad, most skis are covered for delam by warrantee.

It's just chipping. I was hoping there was something i could put on top of it to prevent stuff from getting inside...if stuff can even get inside? (water)

Can you see wood? If you can see wood just throw a small layer of epoxy over the top, it not, don't worry about it.

yep, grab the knife and cut anything loose off so it is smooth. this way it can't catch on anything, sort of like trimming your hang-nail.

then put some epoxy on it, can even get it colored, and let sit overnight. this way it will seal the ski & also protect it from further chipping / de-lamming.

should be good to go.
