How to fix "open tray" on xbox.

Everytime i put a disc in my xbox it says open tray is there anyway to fix this? i've tried vaccuming all the fans and openings but that stopped working.

slap the shit out of it, works for me. just when it starts to make the weird noises give it a solid tap, and it will read the game.

alotta times you just have to completely replace the disk drive, so just google local xbox repair places if nothing else works

shit sucks. i had this with one of my xbox's, just ended up buying a new one for cheap. i made this thread and some of the stuff worked but nothing consistently, worth a shot

i think it's toast now i tried taking it apart got mad and now it has multiple stab wouds and i threw it off my deck into the street.

i get that every once in awhile. just leave it open with your xbox runnin. and then install the game onto your hard drive. it wont burn out the lazers.

ew. i played my friends ps3 today, and i hate the comtrolers once you go to xbox's there is no turning back..... although the free live thing is sick.

i get that sometimes. i just open and close it for a while until it gets fixed

When you get it, take the disk out them close the drive with nothing in it. You will here it trying to read it but nothing happens. Now just insert the game back in. Works like 95% of the time
