How to fix a Core Shot on an edge?

So I have some old K2 Enemy's that has a core shot roughly 2 inches long on the edge near the waist of the ski. I'm planning on selling them to a friend for dirt cheap, and I want them to be in decent condition. It's gonna be his first pair of skis. I have tried to ptex it but after a day on them it just cracks a falls out. One of my friends said to put a screw into it and grind off the tip, then ptex it. Is there any other methods to tackle this?

if you dont get it fixed in about two weeks the snow will cause the core to swell and blow out your sidewall, same thing happened to my walls. but volkl sent me back this years so i didnt care. haha but get them basewelded, nothing else will hold
