So last yeard I tried some but whem I would try my head would stay strait so my body would not cork. Please help

try carving at the lip when you take-off, that's how i learned to cork. try it on a smaller jump first so you don't hurt yourself if you fail.

Yeah, pretty much.

Pretend you are a baseball pitcher. If you spin left, pretend that you are throwing a baseball and then follow through and try to touch your left boot.

for me yes, remember to spin slow though, it just feels better to integrate the cork with a 3, otherwise you kinda do a cork 3 and then straighten out to land the 5 and it feels weird imo, try it on a tramp or just jumping off a ledge or something

the only time me and my friends have done corks are when the lips catch us by surprise and we just launch and burn bad. on the first day last year, there was a pile of snow taht had been blown, and we made it into liek a little pile to stall on. the first time we tried to use it as a jump, we got tossed up and back. good times

when you throw it, do the baseball pitcher thing and when you turn your head, look like under your armpit down at your heelpiece or tails.

i learned by just carving 5s with leading safetys then gradually dropping a my left (leading) shoulder more and more and they ended up getting super corked.

Alright this is one way and iv seen little girls learn it this way. I think i tought 20 people this trick this summer alone.
1- Start your day with a speed check (or 5 straight airs) on the jump you want to hit. the last thing on you mind should be I'm i going to make it to the landing. Every kid i've ever seen attempt a new trick hits the jump slower than they should because they're apprehensive of the trick, but you're ass has to at lest hit the tranny. Crashing or sticking
2-Warm up your spins 1,3,5,7 even if your going to do a 5 you need to know the safe exit of every trick. Ya your only doing a cork 5 but what happens if you go a little to fast, to, big or pop a little to hard for some reason.
3- Now here are the steps you should follow. Once your feeling it, and only you will know, start grabbing leading safety. DONT throw the grab down, DONT throw you shoulder back, just pull your legs up and grab. Keep your head up, all of this will not make you cork, its just a grab right.! WRONG! This will add just a hair of cork, why you ask! Because now your little balled up position is weighted on one side so it will drop on its own.
4-DON'T freak out if you cant see the landing and brake your position. Once you break form your position its all over. Just remember, if you cant see the trick in your head your not going to see it go to your feet and this is true for all tricks. no one likes skiing with a huck splat
5-Once you have this its just a matter of finding the right amount of head tilt to add. all your going to do is once you have left the jump and are just about to get into the balled up grabbing position put you ear on you shoulder. Don't slam it on there just drop it straight to the side. Don't drop you head back, (dspin) or tuck you chin in. Its ear to shoulder thats it.
THIS WILL MAKE YOU CORK SO BE CAREFUL
CCCRCONTROL-you selfCOMMIT-to a trick or you will get hurtCONFIDENCE-this stuff works you've seen it in movies RELAX for dame sake this is going to be fun
Thats how id do itTURPIN

I'm the same way, think of the cork 5 like you're trying to do a cork 3 then, exagerate it. Carving is crucial, with cork 7s and up you know how you sorta drop both shoulders back? With cork 5 think of it more like a lincoln almost. You may end up goign underflip but then just working on the subtle parts you're goign in the right direcftion with that anyways. sorry about the typos

Damn Turpin I knew you were wise beyond your years but that is just raw insight at it's finest

this means grabbing with left hand spin left or grabbing right spin right. leading the spin with the grab. its a little harder because you cant open up to the rotation with your arm . and safety is like a boot grab but lower while keeping you skis parallel

So im not supposed to reach across my body like a pitcher?

I think i like your way cuz it seems like you can work up to the cork more

just learn it on a trampoline and then throw it the exat same as you do there

its easier if you just go for 7 right away

uh yes you would. if you threw a baseball and followed it with your body, that would definitely be forward. the guy who originally said the baseball thing just said it would be bio ^

sorry for the double post, but yes i agree. bio is easier for me to attempt than cork, although i can see cork stuff better in my mind. but the thread creator was asking how to cork, not bio.
thats good advice though, i think it would keep my bios more constant, because sometimes i do a 5 and sometimes i throw more of a 7

hmm nice tips....
i feel like knowing how to do cork fives and sevens on the tramp helps because you kinda get the feel of the loopyness of it all
