How to do a backiee

hey so i cant figure out how to do a backflip. Yea it seems so easy but I keep doing a flat 3 type thing. Any Suggestions?+ k for good posts thanks
 
look straight back, I'm guessing you're trying to look around your shoulder. your body follows your head (and shoulders)
 
head back and then bring your knees to your chest and keep looking for your landing the entire way around
 
this. you must be alittle scared of going straight over backwards, which was my problem before. just try put your head straight back, like touching the back of your head to your spine
 
You're probably using your arms too much.
Pop from your thighs and hips. Up and forward.

Are you doing them on a tramp or on snow?
 
its fuckin simple. pop, look STRAIGHT back and suck your knees to your chest and your done. I still cant land 'em on the tramp but stomp them on skis. Its 110 percent comitment.
 
flatspins are cooler than backflips anyways.

i had the same problem as you until i said "fuck it, backflips are gay anyways ill just stick to my wackflips"

and then every now and then i'd try one and now they're both on lockdown.

they're like women, you have to pretend you dont care to get them.
 
that doesn't work all the time.

but its all about commitment. if u have just a 00.5 of a second hesitation then ur screwed. everyone who posted above basically said it all. body follows head, speed > pop > head back > tuck your knees in > let your body follow > spot landing. try to do it on a tramp or into a pool just so you know what to expect. it helps but its not mandatory. gluck
 
Its actually somewhat different from a tramp... if you can do one on a tramp... cause u dont "pop" your legs as much so to say its momentum and as said before commitment
 
I hate doing them into water. I can throw backs all day on snow or a tramp but doing it into a pool feels so wrong to me, IMO the motion is completely different to doing it on skis and not all that useful.
 
no. learn to do them and land them first. once you are comfortable, then lay them out. if you lay it out first try, you will probably land on your head
 
lol I can only back 180 and back 3 but I can misty, do laid out fronts and front and a halfs.All this in water and not on snow though lol
