i had the same problem... sometimes if ur arm that isnt grabbing isnt in towards ur body it can slow u down. also dont tilt your head/shoulders since this will send u off axis
i have the same problem kinda. my problem is i spin right naturally but i grab with my right and also so i have to do opp grabs when im spinning foreward. however when im switch i spin left so i have no problem grabbing
its not about how you are grabbing, its about when. Timing is what determines how fast you spin and what kind of control you have.
Wait until you pop, only after you have fully set your spin and are beginning to look for the landing (right after 180) reach down/across/wherever and grab and hold until you finish the spin
ya i grab right hand and spin left so it works out good, but just try to learn to grab with your other hand and make sure you are grabbing when you are looking back at the lip of the jump after your spin is set.
Try not to set your spin too much from your arms/shoulders. Try to spin using your core muscles, i.e. getting your pelvis to spin. If you're relying on your shoulders/arms to get your spin around, when you move your arm to reach for the grab your spin will slow down/stop.
when you pop off the jump don't kickyour heels to your back pull your knees into your stomach. I am curently having a similar problem which is weird because last year I was fine
Great advice, that is what I was about to suggest. Instead of saying the same thing, I'll just quote Brock for agreement. Get the grab down first, even if you don't tweak it perfectly and hold it lip to landing. Once you get the timing down, try holding it for longer and it will get more natural
I don't start grabbing until 180. Cuz then you can throw yourself into your rotation with ur arms, and then still grab. It also keeps your spin fast and keeps u blalanced in the air.
