How to clear an SD card, need help quick

hey i took my sd card out of my gopro, copied the stuff to my mac and then manually cleared the items off the sd card, so when i open it on my computer in the finder there is nothing there. the problem is when i put it back in my gopro the gopro says the card is full. so im assuming i didnt properly delete the files however im not seeing them in the folder. any help!?
 
this happened to me so much last season and i had no idea what to do

eventually it happened on all three of my sd cards

if you have a mac

connect your sd card via go pro or cardreader or whatever

go to disk utilities and click on the card and restore or something or erase all i forgot its been a while

but you can figure it out from there im guessing

that way works for me
also if u have a pc u can plug in the sd card and it should show a transparent folder marked something like trashes with transparent icons of all your files
delete that and u should be good to go
 
just make sure you move everything to the trash, and empty trash immediately while the card/gopro is still attached or plugged in.
