How to check if song has been used

one of the things that annoys me is when i pick a song for a edit and i think no one ever used it, then it appears that someone did. which kinda makes it repetitive, there are so many songs out there that deserve to be used. So how can we fix that. well if every-time a edit is upload to NS and the data of a song is entered, NS should transfer that info to a part of there website and create some sort of info bank. where one can enter the name of the song he wish to use and then it'll tell you if its been used and in what edit. i dont know a thing about websites and how they work but it would be sick. is it possible?
 
Having NS somehow detect the song you used it a waste of time and unrealistic... But, when you upload a video it asks for the Artist and the song name, they could take all this data and when you are entering it show if and how many times the song has been used. Not a bad idea.

Thats exactly what i was trying to get at, but i can sometimes be unclear, french problems.
