hey guys,

i want to send a backflip. any tips?

notes:

- i can do a sketchy standing backflip and i can backflip on tramp

- i can ski slide, 180s, 360s.

- i don’t have access to a booter into pow at the moment

- i do have a smaller park jump at my local mountain

what’s worst case scenario and how can i stick it lol

anewer to OPs question: worst case scenario is breaking your scapula, 3 ribs, collapsed lung and a 4 day long hospital stay

But seriously just send it, I landed my first ever attempt and most people I see sending their first flips stomp it first or second try you’ll probably be fine.

find the local backflip guy at your hill, and he will take you under his wing for the day and coach you through it. [tag=279688]@pissnu_skis[/tag] knows who i’m talking about

Even worse your buddy misses the clip.

honestly there's probably 1000 threads about this or something similar. if you can backflip on a tramp, good. you have everything it takes is to send it if you feel like you're ready. go for it or don't

Worst case scenario is always the volcano erupting. …for those of us at Hood at least.

Chest arms hips are where all the set should come from. None of this shit about cranking your head around and spotting the landing as early as possible unless you’re trying to snap your neck. That’s not everything but it is the thing I see most people get wrong trying to explain backflips on the internet. Also little booter with a lot of kick helps.

Definitely need to make sure you have good air awareness. As much as we all say "just send it", I've seen too many people with upside down frog syndrome / no air awareness at all and that's how you get hurt. Keep your center of gravity low, bend ya knees a bit, and send it from the core. A small but super poppy side booted is what I learned on.
