How to add amex gift cards to paypal balance?

I got a bunch of 25 dollar amex gift cards for my bday so I was wondering if I could add the balances from all the cards to my paypal balance?

I'm not sure about adding to PayPal but they should be useable like a regular credit card online.

I know, but for instance if I would want to make a purchase of 40 dollars and I only have 2 25 dollar cards, I would want to add the balance from the 2 cards (50) to make the purchase of $40 dollars.
