After watching his video blog, i learn that jon olsson has a lamborghini  gallardo among other super cars including a 1000 horsepower ultimea and a mad suped up beamer. How can a skier afford this stuff? even with being the superstar that jon is, i don't get it.

i hate in the song smack that when hes like 'my lamborghini gallardo' and says it like that instead of gai-yar-doh. youd think hed at least know how to say it before he stuck it in a song!

do you know how much he spends on the JON invational? he flyseveryone out there sets them up for the week... he is seens as a god out there

he is a national hero in sweeden and he lives in monaco, which is super expensive. he gets so much sponsor money because he is the headline athelete for most of the campanies hes sponsored by

But yea I don't get it either. Doesn't the fact that he lives in Monaco suggest that he is one of the richer people in the world? I just don't see how that would have happened.

To end this stupid bickering, its gai-ar-do. Pronounce it properly.

It's great to see someone who is properly interested in cars, not for the image they provide, but for the quality and handling of the cars themselves. Jon is a true car enthusiast, thus explaining why he has a M3 CSL (only available in Europe, lightened track version of the e46 m3) and a Radical SR3. The BMW motorsports e36 m3 GTR is a nice touch as well.

I've been told a long time ago that he invested the money he got from his sponsors and got lucky, so this would be how he got richer, with probably somthing else, but a part would have been investment. Anyone knows better about that than me?

I'd guess that, yes. He probably did invest heavily, there is no other way he possibly made all that money unless he inherited huge, or has some side profession none of us are aware of.

Yah and I also heard he not only lives in Monaco, but he's actually from there. From what I know, Monaco is a tiny country and the whole thing is like beverly hills, so if he grew up there he probably wasn't exactly poor to begin with, but what do i know

I second that. Mora, Sweden. I don't know where exactly Mora is tho. it might be near monaco!

And I found that he's not with JL anymore looking fo info about him! probably old news, since he singed in july, but I thought I'd share

Maybe his parents were loaded. or maybe grandparents. Who cares, hes a cool guy and like him for that not his money.

No, Monaco is not anywhere near sweeden. It is a principality along the French Riviera. A lot of people call Monaco home because of the tax advantages.

He signed a 6 year deal with Cross Outerwear. Not many pro skiers get 6 year deals. Jon is an international superstar and is a bigger name in Europe than here.

Hes like a God in Sweden.

Plus he was much more than a rider for J. Lindenburg and im sure they probably dished out money to him like nothing else.

he definitly should have done some modeling for JL...and i say that in a totally heterosexual way.

me and a buddy were just talking about this today too. I say good for him though. He worked to get there and he did it.

Think of how popular MJ or derrik jeter were when they were on the top of their game here in the US. Jon is like that to the sweeds am I correct?

Theres a sweet writeup in the new freeskier magazine. He says "I feel that I have a lot of things to improve, so I will keep doing more until I am complety happy and have a $1,000,000 purse and have everybody fly on a private jet".

jon's the man if you ask me. That's badass that he has all this money and is not being greedy!!

Also, there is a pic in the freeskier with him stand in front of the Lambo and a Porsche. Then in another pic you can see a red 360

maddd debt... thats how... lol i dont know will they even give you a loan on a lamborghini??? id imagine you pay upfront for that sort of thing....

Monaco is home to a lot of professional athletes with large salaries. You don't pay income taxes in Monaco. I believe in Sweden, income tax can be as much as 50-60%. A lot of Formula 1 drivers live there to keep all of the $40,000,000 salaries from being taxed.

His contracts are 6, 7 figures and a net-worth of 8 figures. figures on estimate.

Look at who sponsors him. He is THE athlete on the teams he rides and works for. He is a a very rich person. He is a Sweedish superstar. He is set-up.

yes indeed. and swedish taxes (actually all Scandinavian taxes) are extremely high, %50 in most countries... and if you are a swedish superstar, the caliber of women you attract is mind boggling

Thank you for clarifying that, I actually had a feeling that's what it was after Ihad already replied.
