How should I plan my skiing

Just got brand new AR7s with 50% off at the local shop.

I already have Suspects with 2-3 edge cracks underfoot each. They are starting to lift up just a little.

Next month I will be skiing for 7 days in Tignes/Val D in France and competing in a slopestyle comp.

From there I will be skiing 14 days in L2A France in the summer.

Question is: Should I start using my AR7s already next month, then use the Suspects again this summer (high temperatures, edge cracks), just use the suspects 'till they break, or something else?

NS , what would you do???????????

K+ for constructive answers.

I would ride on your new skis in vald/tignes for the slope comp then over the summer ride your suspects into the ground in L2A then retire them and start fresh-ish on your new skis next season.

Honestly, get those AR7's mounted up and use them for sure. Sounds like you Salomon skis are almost out of commission. But your Salomon's would be a good summer ski for summer conditions.Ride the Ar7's!!

Agree with both posts above. Plus I gotta imagine you got the AR7s at pro price or something similar maybe? If so slap a sticker on there for your local shop and rep in that contest.

AR7's for sure, that way you won't have to worry about breaking your suspects, having nice new edges for carving would probably also be a plus on a euro trip.

Nonsense. Unless you know you can sell them for €100+ just ski the Suspects until they actually fall apart, then start skiing your new skis.

The Suspects. I mean either sell them now or ski them until they die. No point doing anything in between.

The point is, to have fresh new AR7s at the slopestyle comp, and then beat up the Suspects over two weeks of skiing in the summer.

After that, I will start using my (almost) new AR7s for the 2012/2013 season.

would you consider selling the suspects? dont mind how bad the edges are/ topsheet as id be using them for a summer setup

I bought the 176, but is really up to you. All the pros and good skiers I know who are around 180 tall: its half of them who skis 176s and half who skis 181s.

It is really personal, but I prefer the 176 because I am

mor gitring anything bigger than 18m jumps (55-60ft or something?) and skiing rails a lot :)

Hmm.....i want to get into the park but im really good except for the park. Right now i have the 2010 k2 extreme and its center mounted and there 169cm. Also i weigh about 215 and im 6'3. I cant decide between the 176 and the 181. What do you think i should do?

If I was 6'3" i would go with the 181 for sure. You probably need to get used to them, because you have skied so short skis before, but I think it is the best choice if you are a good allround skier already, because you will get used to them quickly and they will perform a lot better.
