what should i do becuase i ride vishnu wets and I am going on a ski trip out west (i live in ohio) and i need skis to ride out there.Should I rent them there? Should i buy a new pair then sell them?

First off where are you going out west? What ski are you looking for a do it all? If so look into a jeff 108 that is what I ran out west after I snapped my k2 marksman. The jeff 108 is super versatile and still can rip park like no other

Buy a ski bag and bring your skis with you

Depends how long you’re going for. Renting for more than 10-15 days will just cost the same as buying new skis. If you’re planning on hitting rails and end up breaking or compressing a rental edge most shops will charge you full price for the “broken” ski

don't most airlines only charge like 30 or 40 bucks for ski bags?

Ya most will charge it as a piece of luggage. I fly southwest so two bags always free. They’ll count the ski bag and boot bag as 1 bag. So ends up three bags checked in for free.

i probably want an all mountain ski becuase i have park on the east but no pow so i wanna ski that. we are going to big sky. ami i just better off renting or should i buy

Ski bag. Fly them out

Borrow some old skis from someone and jis bring boots

Rent them. As mentioned if going more than a couple of days moght not be worth it. Also damage and charges.

If you know where you're going maybe somebody on NS has a pair they can lend you for some beersif you treat them nice enough

Yeah get a jeff 108 or get a woodsman 108 from on3p you won't be disappointed at all

My buddy accidentally left his old volkl twintips (red with ninjas) in Big Sky when I was there last year, maybe you can pick em up from the Airbnb or check the thrift store in town

Take your skis with you. They will be fine at Big Sky, if you want more of a designated pow ski if there happens to be a dump then just rent them. If you were moving out west then I would look into purchasing like mentioned above some ON3P's, Moments, or some 4FRNT's.

Ohio isn't a real place. I've got buddies who ski Vishnus all mountian and a bit of freeride stuff. It's not ideal but it will work. Where is "west?"

If you're skiing any major resort they should have a solid demo fleet. Demo days are nice, you can usually ride something thats perfect for the conditions that day. Example: buying something like the Chetler 110's in anticipation of a pow trip to whistler only to arrive on a warm wet cycle where it is mostly ice and slush. Not speaking from experience.

When I did my trip to bc last season I brought my jets and rode them all mountain at grouse and Seymour. Definitely wasn’t ideal but I still had hella fun

I've got some Armada invictus 99ti 2017, 187cm with attack 13 demo bindings you can have for $150 + shipping (or pickup depending where you live in Ohio). Bought em a few years ago from someone off here but rarely used em. They're just sitting collecting dust. They're no twin but would be perfect for most days.

Edit: they come with a NS sticker ?

I messaged you, got some revolt 104s that are too short for me you can borrow depending on when your trip is and what your boot size is.

If it doesnt work out then i would suggest either buying a setup from play it again sports in Bozeman or looking on marketplace, then either selling on marketplace or dropping back off at play it again. Thats only if its a pretty long trip. Or the safe thing to do would be to buy that midwestern dudes Armadas and just fly them out with you and sell them in Bozeman after your trip

I have almost the same exact ski just with Markers doing the same damn thing, collecting dust, lol.

nvm just saw big sky - my brother in law patrols there, get something medium stiff, its not as stout as the hype.

Dude just rip the wets unless you are trying to charge super hard, which tbh you probably won’t be if it’s your first time skiing bigger terrain. Being on a ski you are unfamiliar with would be worse I think
