How should I do this?

So last summer my friend and I tried to make a backyard setup and it barely worked. We bought turf(not green, black and white if that makes a difference) and nailed it pretty tightly to the grass. I'm lucky because my hill is already slanted at about a 45 degree angle for 20 feet or so. On the bottom and top it goes to complete flat, so it's just about perfect for a setup. I had trouble getting speed and I came to the solution that I need to get something hard under the turf. I have no money so I don't really know the best way to do this. Where could I find wood for really cheap that would hold down?

I was also wondering what I should do with my rails.

I have:

A PVC shotgun 8' that is 4" wide

A 2" PVC

And a 13' metal rail that is 1 foot tall. How should I set these up?

I'll post pics later. +K for help and bumps, I know this was kinda scrambled together.

If you have no money go get some skids and lay them down, but obviously they aren't that long so you would need a lot of them. But it would work and be kind of like a ladder style drop in except you probably wouldn't want to cut your carpet for that. Then if you still don't have enough speed go "find" some construction fence and place it over the carpet, or spend a little bit of money to get some plastic lattice as it is also pretty damn fast.

plywood is gonna be pretty expensive. Go to a work site and see if theyve thrown out any old wood, use 2x4s and space them out so there is a 2x4 size gap in between each of them until you get close to the lip, wedge 2x4's together to make a lip, if you want anymore help, I can send you a picture of how my lip was built.
