How serious are edge cracks?

Got two edge cracks on the underfoot of my current ski. Should I worry about them splitting and ripping out or should they hold up for a little bit?

Should have pics of them soon.

detune the fuck out of them and they should stay in longer. they'll eventually pull out but the smoother you keep them the longer it takes

they'll be an issue later on as you continue hammering them, but for now they're fine. when they crack in more places and closer together they might start peeling away from the base. that's when it's time to consider a repair or replacement

This happened to me, it will start to pull out on both sides, nothing you can do. Don’t try epoxying them, that will last about 1 rail.

Keep water out and they should last awhile. Leave them, allowing water in to freeze, expand, thaw, repeat, and they will get worse fast.

Sealing any edge cracks with some good two part marine epoxy, plus c-clamp as needed, would save a lot of park skis from an early death.

Just noticed I have an edge crack while waxing. Will the wax keep the water out for a few days till I can epoxy it?

If you ski it, no. If you dont - its fine til epoxy.

Theres no golden rule, all depends on how hard you ski and how much you maintain your skis.

Rip. Have a ski trip lined up for this wknd and can’t epoxy till Sunday so I had to just drip a shit ton of wax in it and not scrape a lot in that area.
