How safe r the water ramps

dude I was just there last week. You would have to be a pretty bad skier in order to hurt yourself. the ramps themselvs are the most "dangerous" if you fall while you are going at the jump you could hurt yourself. but as for the ramps and the landing in water part, they are sweet! you can try anything!!

just wear an old pair of boots, not your nice ones. if you don't have an expendable pair, buy one for like $50, id say the water ramps are worth it.

Also don'y try to turn, or butter for that matter, on the ramps... I have seen some kids grab an edge into the plastic and go straight into the side walls. If you aren't a moron and just go straight you will be fine, emphasis on the straight, some kids try to huck off the side and carve the lip, bad idea, you will just end up on the pool deck... A very rough landing...

i hear at lake placid they got some new material on the little jump that you can turn on , so you can carve off the lip. im excited to try that out. but i hear its slower than the old stuff

i was just there 3 days ago, the new material doesn't make you go really any slower, so long that you keep watering it. Plus the new material makes it easier to hit switch. But its still never a good idea to carve off the lip, in case you end up on the pool deck.

is it hard hitting the water ramps switch .. ive never tried switch, im always scared im going to try to turn

Plenty safe, bring your helmet. As long as you don't sketch on the inrun you will be fine.

I was there last week, awesome times.

even at a good one (lake placid) it will still hurt when you hit the water if you land sideways or something, the bubbles do help a lot but not that much. It is a lot better then laning on your face on snow though.

^ You can do legit tricks. But the safety of the ramps is like... have you heard of those lines in the BC called, "you fall you die" lines? It's kinda of like that.

skiierman speeks the truth, except it'll hurt like hell, but wont kill you, if u fall on the inrun that is, in the water, it wont hurt any worse then getting hit by a painball does.

well. if you don't go straight you pretty much die. but well, most people can keep their skis relatively straight.

uh, just go in a straight line with enough water on the ramps (dont let them be dry) and you won't die.

severed my knee cap on em but its cus I was being a DUMBASS and didn't listen to the coach.

If you think u can do a cork 7 without being able to land a 3 or let alone a 5 YOU CANT. haha

Landed on my back and stomach, the worst that can happen really if your smart is having the wind knocked out of you.

Plus the coach (Richie, or any of the others) COULD NOT BE NICER people. Seriously they are the coolest people in the world, and if you go there wanting to learn something YOU WILL.

there super safe, just make sure that you dry out your boots properly after every session or you will have rotten boots by the end of the week
