ya so the ramp is 8' down then it gets less steep for 4 feet and then it ends. where should i put the snow catchers?

Place em more often towards the bottom cuase thats where your really going to be gripping the drop in with your design. Mabey once ever 10 inches at the bottom and once every 12 to 14 inches towards the top. But use qtr. inch slats instead of 2x4's. They work much better.

well , instead of putting snow catchers or carpet on there, what I did was I found a place that sells plastic, and got remnants from them. Its like the same plastic the boxes are made of and is super slick so you dont have to worry bout covering the ramp with snow. my ramps about 8 feet as well, and I put 3 in wide strips every 4 inchs.

Me and my friend built a drop in with snowcatchers. His is probably 8 feet to,but we put a small thin piece of wood like ever 6-7 inches or so cause we had alot. You dont even really need snow.We put a little snow on it and by the time we got our boots on and stuff it was already melted so it just made the wood wet and it slid fine.So if I were you dont waist snow on the drop in.Just wet it and it will work fine.
