How often do you get new gear?

boots- after about 250 days on them ill get new ones

skis- i have one 2 year old pair as a graduation present to myself, and two five year old pairs

outerwear/gogs- 5 years old

why get new shit if the old stuff isnt broken and still performs really well?

hardwear of clothing ? My oldest and still in use pair of skis are 3 years old. technical clothing, not that often, once every two years.

I've had my skis/bindings for 4 years, my boots for 3. I only get about 6 days of skiing in a year so it really doesn't wear

I've gotten new skis pretty much every two years for the past 6 years. But i pretty much have stopped growing now so i should be able to keep my skis for longer

I've broken a pair of skis about every season... Boots lasted me three, poles, gloves and goggles are all consumables and get replaced whenever they break.

boots-every other season

skis- usually every other season or when they break

outerwear- when i grow out of it

everything else- when it breaks or i want to freshen up my look

Boots- every other seasons. My spks will barely make it through this one so I'm buying new ones with my tax return.

Skis- um I've bought three pairs just this season alone.. All were less than $300 with bindings.

Outerwear- I have a tendency to destroy pants so I have two pairs, they'll last at least a season each. And coats last me a long time if I don't trade them for something else.

Poles and gloves and all that will be replaced when I need new ones..

skis - every two years, I grow out of them by then. I'm almost done though so my next pair could last me longer.

Boots - When they get two worn on the toe/heel or when they get two small.

Outerwear - every two years.

I try not to. And yet I find myself buying new shit all the time.

This year I have bought new boots, skis, bindings... next year I am going to need to buy new skis, and I assume at least one of my pairs of bindings will break so I'll have to buy some new bindings during the winter as well.

skis and boots depends on how theyre holding up or if i find a deal and outerwear i buy and sell it all the time

When I was little, I had 2 pairs of skis over 7 or 8 years. Then when I got a job (7th Grade) I bought my first pair of twin tips (2008 Dynstar nothing but troubles) for 8th grade season (2010-2011) They were way to big, and kind of sucked so the next year I bought k2 silencers, then won a pair of Atomic Patents.

Then this season I tried out my friends park skis, and compared to my k2's and patents I could shred. I felt a huge difference, I slid rails a little easier, spun way faster, could actually butter... So I bought some 2013 Atomic Punx...

So the last 3 years its been a new pair of skis a year which is stupid. I make bank in the summer though, and still have lots of money, but I hate spending it so often. I'm going to try to keep my Punx for at least 3 years before buying anymore. As for outerwear, In middle school my mom hooked me up with some. (Zero Steeze, but free) and then Freshman year (Last Year) In the same contest I got the skis in, I got hooked up with Nike 6.0 coat, pants, socks, hoodies, tall-tees etc. I bought the k2's in the summer, and won the Patents in november.

This year I decided to get new coat and pants, and will probably get a new setup next year again... I got my Armada coat super super cheap on clearance, but couldn't really find and snowpants to fit the look, and so I look kind of stupid. Oh well.

Tl:DR

I've spent way to much money in the past year or 2 on ski shit.

got new boots this year for the first time in 5 years. and new skis for the first time in 3 years.

so pretty much only once i completely thrash my gear

Never.

Boots are a great long term investment once you stop growing. Skis I need to get every 2-3 years or so, but i always have park skis, all mountain/powder skis, and rock skis. Having multiple pairs of skis is actually cheaper cause stuff lasts alot longer. I dont really give a fuck about poles.

park skis: every year or two, basically when i kill them and they need to be replaced

pow skis: whenever i need new ones

outerwear: way too often. basically whenever i get bored with whatever i am wearing i sell it and buy new stuff

skis: usually every 3 to 4 weeks

boots: 2 months or so, depending in what kind of sale is going on

bindings: 2 months

poles:2 weeks
