How much snow/rain/water can a camcorder take?

Hi guys. I was recently looking at a Nimbus post here on NS and I noticed a shot of someone shooting with a camera that looks like either a HVX-200 or a HMC-150.

I'm curious how much snow/moisture and cold weather these cameras can take. I really don't want to risk my equipment because it is what I'm using to pay for grad school. A little feedback would be great. Thanks!
