How much money should i ask for?

To make a long story short some douche bags slashed my friends tires a couple nights ago. The cops were to lazy to analyze the security cam footage so i loaded it onto my computer and pulled some still frames out and burned a dvd with enough evidence to prove who owned the car (bumper sticker, dent in the side, etc...) now they are going to court and i am going to make an invoice to take to court for damages so the bithch that slashed my friends tires will also have to pay me for putting the evidence together to land her in court. I am thinking like $200, should I go higher?

id say go a little higher if the worst that can happen is the court says thats too pricey but id say 250 or 300
 
sounds right. if you have a lawyer you could probly add some emotional stress bullshit on top of it but i dunno, its kind of a dick move.
 
tires are expensive. i would ask for twice what the tires were worth because of the inconvenince. plus you have to pay a fee to get past the small claims court shit or whatever. ask for around 1,000. with a good lawyer you'r set.
 
she is the one going to court and bringing the tape and pics, she has to bring proof of damages (receipts for tires, tools to put them on, etc...) I just suggested I make an invoice and have her bring that so she could milk a little more money out of the girl that slashed her tires then i could get payed a little for my time.
 
i dont see how thats a dick move, she deserves to pay for more than the tires and i should get reimbursed for my time
 
What did it cost you to make the DVD? If you can't prove what it cost you beyond the price of the DVD etc, you shouldn't claim it. If you took time out of work to do it an subsequently lost wages, you could claim those, but you can't assign an abritrary monetary value to your free time, just because that bitch slashed your tires.
 
if she would have got a professional to do it would have bankrupt her i just did it for a friend. i dont want her to pay me just the bitch that wrecked her tires
 
i would be so pissed, you should try as hard as you can to fuck that stupid bitch over. people that vandalize other peoples shit should be fuckin shot. $700 not a penny less
 
Dude, you cannot "ask" for a certain amount of money in small claims court.

The way it works is, you go to automotive store. You have an estimate made on what the cost would be to put new tires on the car. Including the tires, labor, etc. You then take that number to court with you. The judge will most like factor in a few other costs. Such as court expenses, and perhaps lost wages / costs due to inconvenience. Considering it was a hassle that you couldn't use your car.

How many tires were actually slashed? All 4? Cause if thats the case I can tell you right now just with tires and labor alone, you won't be able to have new tires put on it for under $400. Just from my estimate, I'll say your claim is going to be around $500-$550. But you need to go to autozone, pepboys or somewhere and have an estimate made.

you guys need to learn how to READ. He's not asking how much she should claim, it doesn't work that way. He's asking what he should charge his friend for the service of making the video so she can include that cost in the claim. So the claim would be the cost/estimate of replacing the tires plus the cost of making the video. I say $50-$75 an hour sounds about right, minimum of $200 though if it was a quick job. You'll need some kind of documentation saying she paid you for it though
 
EXACTLY! I dont know why I bothered putting this on NS your one of the only peopple on here smart enough to understand what I am asking. Im not trying to get money for tires or "ask the judge for money" I am simply going to give her an invoice to ake to court that looks like she payed me to make the video so that hopefully the bitch that slashed her tires will have to pay me to convicet her.
 
tell them your a dealer and you usually earn about 15,000 dollars an hour and it took you an entire work day 8 hours to look at the video tapes so she has to pay you 15,000x8 = 120,000 dollars
