How much would you be willing to pay for a new pair of skis for park/all mountain purposes. Would you pay extra for a custom topsheet?

personally i wouldn't pay over $700 on skis alone, but that's just me. also depends on how much the custom topsheet costs and how good it looks

Never bought a pair of new skis in my life. Always used. Prlly spend $500 max on a new ski and $300 for used.

anything more than what ON3P/Moment charges is unacceptable imo

There is no reason for a ski to cost more than skis that are handmade in the USA with the most durable materials available.

for park, id first try and swing some deals or buy someones used/barely used setup for cheap. I wouldnt really be interested in buying a ski thats more than $500 for something thats gonna get the shit beat out of them quicker considering the way you ski them in the park. Much more reasonable to take that $$ and put it towards a setup thats gonna let you ski all over the mountain for a few seasons.

Bought some new Kartels at the end of the season a few years back for $500, got a good deal but I remember thinking, Damn that is a chunk of change. Then I rode them and all that went away.

You put a good binding on some skis and yeah, most of us are riding 800-1000(or more) pair of sticks on our feet. But when you are cranking hard and your life depends on that equipment, money should be the last of your worries.

I sent to go for something around 700-800 without binding on a good all mountain setup if I got the budget and the knowledge that I will be inbounds all the time.

i wont get a custom topsheet, its a pair of skis, not an Aston-Martin

I always buy my gear new end of season for 60% off, so about 2-300 for skis

not that this feedback helps you much but its how I roll

What you should do is find the skis for a killer deal, then sit on them until you find another great deal for bindings that fit the waist. I’ve done that a few times and it’s worked out well. I also tend to pay more then keep bindings from old setups and just cycle out skis with the same bindings. Both those tips have saved me a lot.

Also, I always buy last years skis and I always buy during the big sales (end of season/Labor Day/Memorial Day/etc.). Most companies only change topsheet, and if they change tech - they make a big deal of it (for marketing reasons). So I’d say $400 - $500 is a good sweet spot for unused gear, if we’re being thrifty and buying a whole setup

God, I really need to start reading the text and not just the title.

I’d say I’d pay $600-700 max if I REALLY had my heart set on the skis and they were a well-made, handmade brand. I would probably not pay extra for custom topsheet.

idk about your ski shops but a ski shop near me gave me half off on some armada edollos and 190$ for pivot 12s so u can easily get a great setup for under $500

Ski's only?

My absolute max would be $650.

My comfortable max would be $500.

I aim for $350, usually buy used.

If I were to for some reason update all my gear and get a brand new full set of skis, bindings, boots, and poles, I'd restrict myself to a $1000 budget.

It can be tough with gear improving and new shit getting released constantly, but it is a good idea to set a limit to how much you can let yourself spend

me? I try not to go above my firstborn child for anything that isn't signed by the pretzel man himself

but I am currently about 4 firstborn children in debt
