How much does sizing matter?

Now that Vishnu unofficially announced that they will be making a new size (171), I am torn. I’ve been skiing 177s but I don’t know what the difference, if any at all, would be if I started skiing the 171s. I’m 5’ 8” 150 lbs for reference. Wondering if they will be easier to butter, rails, rotate etc. and what the negatives would be for sizing down.

Big skis, big steez... I'm confused why you aren't on 189s OP

Smaller skis are probably easier to spin, harder to butter, don't forget less cool, I'm just assuming tho... I'm on 189s

What other details are you looking for? It’s literally gonna be the existing ski in a different length, I think you just asked a dumb question

This is why I wish they didn’t drop a 171, should have to prove you’re like 5’ or someshit to be able to buy em ???????

couldn’t find any info on how to preorder the skis or when the ski would be released so was hoping someone might have seen something I didn’t. just want to support a great brand and get some new skis.
