How much can one person improve their skiing/riding?

they can only progress until they can do a 540...then there will be no more progression allowed and they can't do anything else or their skis will blow up and start playing music

There is a rather simple formula to find out how much one may progress, you can not change this fact no matter how much you try.

S=((B+A)*((L/J)*(W))/(T)+(D))

Total Skill= ((Number of beard hairs+age)*((Length of skis/how high you can jump)*(weight))/(how far you can throw a standard baseball)+(dick length))

honestly though, look at the question you asked...are u an idiot, it's pretty self explanatory. I'm not gonna tell you that you can do a sw dub cork 14 because im pretty sure you cant...but maybe, just maybe if you work hard enough at it like some other people (jossi wells persay), then maybe you can progress that far and more...i think the answer is relatively easy by saying progression is limited to the amount of effort/balls one has

yeah that pretty much sums it up. Some kids can progress farther than others. it all depends on how much you want to progress

while some may have predispositions to improve fast, I believe anyone can reach any level, altho it might take a lot of time/practice. Most people don't reach pro level or stop improving because they don't have the balls or the time to take it up to the next level.

well when i started skiing, i had to wear a harness and couldn't go on a chairlift without my parents. now i am apparently good enough to not need either. talk about progression!

haha. i was thinkin the same thing!

to the thread though, how has no one mentioned talent/skill. yes you can try hard, but its not just sheer effort and balls (will to win w/e) that have put people like tanner, simon, tiger woods, schumacher, ronaldo at the top of their respective sports. there's a lot of talent in there guys.

Thank you. That answers my question. The thing is, I know I'm not naturally talented at snowboarding, I was just wondering how much hard work is really going to make a difference.

i hope you are talking about cristiano ronaldo, not ronaldo (Luis Nazário de Lima of Brazil). he is a very talented player, but not nearly at the top of his sport anymore, or anytime in recent memory.

hard work will get you a long way. in the last two years i've pushed myself a lot and have obtained a couple of sponsors (end claim), and who knows, you may just be the next shaun white or jack niklaus, you'll only find out if you push your limits all the time.

you dont have to be naturally talented, sure it helps. but if you ski/snowboard enough and are willing to try things you can do anything you put your mind to

just thought you could use a little optimism

saying all these things though you can be spanked by bad luck. headed out to my uni ski trip for a 2 week park sesh..end of first day last run decided to try a right 3 on a 5/6m kicked....nice scorpion 270 landing and major break of my collarbone. surgery+1 plate and 2 days later am back in england missing out on 60cm pow...life sucks.

i hope you're playing the obvious game!

ronaldo (formally known as THE ronaldo), is a fat bastard who couldnt hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

you have to be willing to take chances Ex. Tanner, Simon etc. but if your not going to ski more than 50 days a year and work you ass off you probably won't go to far. I ski like 20 days a year and that is not enough to keep getting better. It feels like every new season i have to restart my progression, you just have to take risks. This means you can't keep doing the same things over and over for example if you land your first 3 then try to grab it, don't just keep doing pencil steeze 3's.

you can progress until your sack is sawed off by a unicorns horn. then when you have a vag go ahead and mount the horn.

the limit of your progression is directly proportional to the size of your ballsack.

really though, if you have any amount of natural ability and are willing to sacrifice your body in the name of progressing, you can go as far as you want.

You snowboard? That explains this question......

jk, progression is as far as you want to go my friend.

if your looking to progress, obviously natural talent will play a roll in it, but you gotta be able to go out on a limb and just try new shit. for example, i know too many kids who want to try new tricks but when the time comes to try them (perfect day, soft landings, etc) they cant do it. you gotta just work up the sack and go for it, even if it isnt the best day to try. i learn all my tricks like that. you just gotta say "alright im gonna go stop this ________ " then you just ride up to the jump/rail and execute it. if you fall, try agian. dont put too much thought into it, that only scares people
