how much do you think a pro like Hall, Dumont, Olson, Carlson, or Wells makes a year compared to a pro like Harlaut or Wallisch?

i feel like i read sumting about 100,000 - 500,000

but im pretty sure thats completely wrong

i am interested to know though

if i were to guess.... id say 100+ grand a year.... but if u think about it.... they get all their shit for free..... they have too many sponsers on their side...

well take jon who is practically sweden's biggest super star, he most likely makes about 1mil+ from all the photoshoots, clothing sponsors, other swedish endorsements just in sweden without taking his skiing into account. then someone like wallisch who has a few sponsors but nothing more and all the money he gets is probably just by winning comps so probably like 25k.

I am most likely waaaaaaaaaaay off but whetever, the two cant compare to eachother

wow i wish i could make over a mil a year to ski, thats living the life right there. not to mention how much pussy he gets

As far as I know the biggest skiing contract was candides deal with rossi - 3 years $900,000. skiers don't really get paid that much, and there aren't that many that can make a full living out of it.

it varies a ton. dumont, tanner, and jon are all well paid but other really good skiers like cosco and hornbeck are far from wealthy.

I wonder if they make royalties on their signiture gear or if they just get a fat paycheck when they start making them?

T Hall probably makes a decent percentage of sales of the massive

It depends on which person we are talking about. All you have to do is look at Dumont's Keystone house to guess how much he makes, but his sponsors are huge compared to other skiers.

if a major ski company has a ski named for a pro skier, I bet the pro makes alot from that, also with the good pros( who seem to win everything), they probably make a shit load of $ from competitions and sponsors.( but i doubt they are rolling in money because they spend alot of money on dope)(, t-hall has rasta colors on his ski)

well a majority of the skiers are younger and going to college, which means they are prepping for a job because they know that skiing isn't gonna pay the bills. but like said above, guys like tanner and jon get paid by their sponsors and they have a ton of sponsors. hey i wouldnt care if i got free ski stuff and didnt make tons of money, i would get a side job

There is a select few skiers that make a legitimately large amount of money per year, but most don't make all that much. Guys like, Sammy, Tanner, Dumont, Jon, Tj, Colby, Candide, all make a good amount, but other than the superstars the others aren't exactly rich.

Jon makes quite a lot prob around 200,000 euro a year I doubt he makes 1,000,000, I mean its swedens national sport, he has a lambo and lives in monaco which is extremely expensive to live in even though its tax free. As for tanner he has part ownership in armada so he should earn money out of that along with his sponsers.

Skiing is not our national sport, far from it. Sure, Jon is pretty well known, but he is not even close to soccer, hockey and other athletes.

i was being fully serious when i said that jon makes 1 million euros a year from red bull. it wasnt a guess, it was a statement

What I don't think people understand is, that if your not sponsored majorly from a company. As in, they make gear that has your name on it, or is designed by you. You don't make any money from it.

Hence most "pro" skiers don't make dirt. All they get is free gear from the companies they are sponsored from. There is some exceptions such as red bull and maybe Oakley(?).

But really, if your looking to make the big bucks and not sell out. Try another sport.

Well you have some horrible knowledge, red bull gives him 250k a year max, no way 1.5m.

my dad and jon we're ralking about it and thats what jon said his new contract was, coz hes buying a new car, a nice new car. it may not be euros

id say thats pretty accurate. only the biggest super-pros actually make money.... others just get mostly gear and travle expenses etc, which might make them seem rich....

theres tanner hall on one hand who was handed about 1 million dollars this year for massive aparently by redbull. + his share in armada= a shit load of cash

then theres skiers like Ian cosco who have to beg to even get a job to even get to ski for their sponsors

I'm no expert but i think it's more likely Jon is being payed 1,000,000 a year Swedish kronor a year, approximately 125,000 USD

you guys, LOVE, to guess way too high numbers.
I bet you all the pros that read these threads that come up again and again laugh hysterically when they see people speculating on the internet how much they make.
not to be a dick but do most of the young people in this thread even know EXACTLY or CLOSE to how much their parents make a year? How about themselves? How much do YOU YOURSELF make a year?

these threads wear on me. there are a lot of factors involved and barely any people actually know total income from any of these athletes except the athlete's accountants and the IRS (who may be getting played too haha)
^he seemed halfway right though.

I find it hard to believe that jon doesn't make a million a year. To buy a fricking Lambo, you can't just make 200 000 $ a year. The retail price itself is 200 000$. Also, an appartement in Monaco is at least 500 000$. But I think the other super pros make 100 000 to 500 000 $.

That's your best try at naming Swedish hockey players?

What about Forsberg, Naslund, the Sedin twins,Nylander, Lidstrom, Zetterberg, pretty much 3/4 of the Detroit Red Wings, etc

You can totally buy a lambo on a 200k a year salary. 10% down and a 60 month loan. Your lookin at paying roughly 42,000 in a physcal year. Call it a 5th of your taxable income. Maybe not the wisest investment and certainly one with no return, but totally feasable.

be reasonable people.
It is incredibly different for every pro. For example Jon, he is sponsored by two companies who dont sponser that many other riders, head and cross. Him being their pemier rider, im guessing they pay him a lot. Then he has red bull and oaklkey and a bunch more. He places in a fair number of contests each year making some money and im sure does side promotional deals. If you add it up and consider the fact he lives in monaco and drives a lambo, im guessing he makes upwards of 600,000 dollars a year.
The next would be dumont because he has a ton of sponsers, but then makes like 125,000 a year just off comp winnings (dew tour). So he prob makes around 300,000+ a year.
From there, the next level is the rest of your elite pros; candide, pollard, pep, tanner, etc who prob make around 200,000+ a year
and it incrementally decreases from there
