How many times should I be falling???

It's different for everyone, it all depends on how bad you want to progress versus how much you value your good health. If you're almost never falling and you're happy with how you're skiing than awesome, you'll be skiing for a long time. If you're not happy with the way you're progressing than i'd say try something everyday that scares you just a little bit. I'm 18 and i'm used to falling as many times as it takes to get a trick i really want. Sometimes it pays off and you get better, sometimes you dislocate your hip... season over. As long as you're happy, it's all good.

this thread is awesome just because i know now there are old people on newschoolers (i'm 27). i bite it a fair amount and after breaking some ribs last year sometimes wear a chest/spine protecter when hitting rails or trying to push myself. it sucks cause 10 years ago when i fell that way i would just bounce back and not even be sore. now i can't miss work cause of screwing around on the mountain otherwise i can't afford to go ski in the first place. props to everyone that can legally drink on newschoolers.

i fall the first time i try a new trick, then i stomp it the second... its my little routine and I've progressed so much after i accepted that falling is going to happen and you just need to fuck it and huck it

falling is part of the sports whether you like it or not. But at least you are trying so thats good. An you learn from falling. You learn from your mistakes.
