How many times do you try a trick before realising its not going to happen?

Coming from a background full of ropetows and skateboarding, I am usually willing to give a trick between 15 and 20 tries before moving on but I've noticed a lot of people out in colorado will only give difficult tricks 2 or three tries before either getting the trick or moving on.

Air tricks - about 5 tries (enough to be hurt or terrified of trying it again)

Rail tricks - a lot of tries (enough to be worn out or too furious to ski)

ignore the pain from eating shit. I wanna land that motherfucking trick, and its gona happen. all I gotta say

If I am trying a trick and keep falling and getting beat up during the learning, I wait until I finally get it once or twice, then stop if it hurts too much

I really have never given up on a rail trick unless I got hurt badly.

I will attempt it a bunch of times before giving up on it for the day, it gets to the point where you aren't having fun anymore, but I'll try it again the next time I'm skiing

Never give up. Ever. If you do, become a snowboarder 'cos they can't do park on skis.

Seriously, failure is simply feedback for the future.

Your result is the consequence of the situation, your attitude and the action you take

I also find that it helps if you ask a friend to film you try the trick. Put it in slow-mo and it really helps to see what's going on...

I don't care about how many tries it takes

I go by how much shit I eat when falling

If I never get hurt then I'll be hiking a dfd rail all day

This. I've spent an absurd amount of tries on certain tricks. Rail skiing can be so frustrating, but that feeling when you finally get it...

I will do it until i get a couple good falls in to where i think "maybe i should just chill for a second and come back to this so i don't wreck myself"

Obviously you try it until you get it. But if it gets to the point that you are getting worse and farther away from landing it on each attempt then you should take a break and try it another day.

Usually I'm a pussy and stop after a couple hard falls, but I'm trying to put an end to that this season. Today I tried like 20 urban 270's on and got maybe 5 of them clean and fell on the rest.

I gave up on a fs switch up to k-fed on a big dfd after close to 20 tries. Just kept running ou

I gave up in blind 4s out after three tries, on the last one I stomped at 360 and winded myself pretty good.

I tried my first backflio when I was 17 and landed on my stomach. My friends wanted to eat lunch so I gave up until I tried again at 22 and landed after 5 tries.

Has entirely to do with how the first tries go. If I try once or twice and there's no hope in sight ill prolly do something else. However, if the first few are close i'll fuckin spend the rest of my waking day, will power, energy, sweat and tears til I land that shit

I'll just keep trying until I get it, but I usually only try like 4 times a day because I'll get sick/scared of falling and I'll quit trying
